Well you do know that "Hoop Coops" are easy to build and cheap.  My roo is the only one w/o frost bite. AND  I just cleaned it for the  first time.  The floor was amazingly dry. The only wet spot was the edge and I think it was due to not enough over hang on the tarp.  I'll replace it or add another that is longer.  I did add more wood shavings.

When I clean now I throw plenty of DE everywhere.

Each coop comfortably hold 13 - 14 birds. However I do have double the size with the covered run.  Very nice in the winter.  Size is 100"  x 9'    Right now I have 12 hens and a roo.   I like it better than my wooden coop.  I'll be posting measurements or the plan with the sizes for those who consider this set up.  The most expensive thing is the hardware cloth.

You could easily do a set up with 5 of these side by side. Or more.  That's at least 50 chickens.   I put doors on both sides for easy cleaning and ventilation.  They said they love it.  Buck , buck and cockle doodle doooo.

You know you're in TSC too often when their staff members are saying, "You're in here as much as we are - you should get a job with us!"  lol.png

Excuse me?  They call me at home and give my number out to customers. Asking for chicks or chickens.  I love them they are very nice. Of course it is my second home.  I told them they need a coffee shop.  lol.png      We could  have meetings there.

Oh, yeah, they could unveil the TSC "cafe", with baked goods and assorted pastries too!

The TSC Cafe would be great!  The meetings could be like knitting groups, only discussing poultry and swapping eggs.  TSC, are you listening?  lol.png

I must be the only one here who doesn't really like going to TCS. I don't know if it is the incredibly loud goat ropin music that they play, or all  the chinese made stuff in there, or what. But I prefer Blue Seal. Agway even. I do sometimes shop at TSC, just as a last resort.

goat ropin music puts me in a miserable mood. So it is probably that

I'm always shocked how people take something typed on a forum so personally :) If I say it here I have done it. No Bull poop from me. I'm not arguing, I'm stating what I see in MY flock of 10 years.I'm NOT P.C. If that offends please just block me :)

I do agway also whenever possible - the agway nearish me delivers for free so I only make one trip per month. TSC is just for emergency runs and kitty litter (equine pine).

Beautiful day today and I got to enjoy the afternoon outside with my cheeps.  Silly silkie hen runs to the coop, lays an egg in the run, goes up the ramp into the coop and then sings the egg song.  Really???  You couldnt just lay your egg in the coop like normal chickens do???  Why even bother to go up the ramp into the coop if you have already laid your egg in the run???  Silly chicken.  Must have been a winged predator around today because everyone stuck pretty close to wherever I was outside and hid under the porch when I ran inside.  I set eggs in the bator today so I am keeping my fingers crossed for some silkies!  I have bbs and partridge.  Hoping mine hatch as well.

I have yet to go to a tsc.  I dont think its any better or worse than any other store.  You would be hard pressed to find much of anything american made anymore.  Companies are only concerned with the bottom line, regardless of anything else.

So Rancher and Hen...while a coffee shop is a great idea I think the drive for all of us to get together would be a killer! lol  Would be nice to have a place for us chicken people to get together and share.

Hope everyone had a nice day.

Mom of 3 girls, 1 lab, 1 calico cat, 4 barred rocks, 4 wyandottes and 4 very spoiled blue silkies! Love my cheeps!

Well now I don't know what goat ropin music is but please be nice.  I didn't mention that they sometimes have country music on and I am not fond of country music. My mother used to get drunk and cry in her beer to  Faron Young and Kay Starr and the rest. I know every Patsy Cline song by heart and can sing them real well but I still get sick at the sound.

As for the Chinese stuff at my age and all the complaining I've heard.  I've given in.  If the U.S. was goin to do something they'd have done it by now.   Been nigh on forty years when guys paid to smash a Toyota at the NYS  Fair and yet it's still here.  Like the poem says about changing things. "The wisdom to know the difference"  and I'm smart enough to know there aint' anything I can do about it.

I have to do the best I can til they plant me in the bone orchard, cuz that's where we're all headed sooner or later.   wink.png

I'll focus on the smile I get when I walk into the TSC and ignore the rest. They treat me nice and that means alot. I met some real nice friendly people at TSC.   Talk chicken and dogs and horses.  Ain't none told me to shut up yet, but I try real hard to let them get a word in.  big_smile.png

Can't say the same for store down the road and that's the one that sells Agway.   Shoot I been in there and had to go to TSC cuz they didn't have what I needed in chicken feed.

I swear to God I have lost my mind.  I can't hear a thing the wife says but I can hear a chick peeping in the shell over the whine of this incubator.  No lie.  I heard the peeping of the first chick to start hatching!   It's an EE as usual.  lol.png

I need intervention.  Maybe they'll put a chicken Detox in next door to the TSC.  lol.png     Help me Jesus and Lord have mercy.
