We already have that crap around here beginning in early November.

What I'm thinking is several straw bales, stacked 5 or 6 feet tall. No way that 5 foot tall "lady" could see into my yard.

I hate to be that shallow. On the other hand, it is easier for a smart person to be pretend to ignorant than for the ignorant to pretend to be smart.  I'll take the high road...For now.

And despite their size, they have shown that they can escape under a gate with a clearance the size of a brick.

They are standard Turken crossed with either bantam silkie or bantam sizzle.

Kind of reminds me of where 3 of the bantams I have decided to sleep at last night.  I got home a bit after it got dark and they were nowhere to be found.  The bigger chickens were already in their coop.  I searched all over with a flashlight and finally found them on the roof outside my daughter's small window.  Absolutely no way to get them down.  Crazy birds. roll.png

Most of mine prefer to sleep on the ledge right out my bathroom window rather than go into the coop.

RaZ you need to put a toilet out in your front yard and plant flowers in it..

A fellow Michigander here, we have a charade of animals where I live, turkeys, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, horses, rabbits, a cat, a dog and a fish. XD I do mostly just the rabbits, turkeys and chickens though. I have 5 turkeys myself with 4 others belonging to other members of the family. I have a blue palm hen, a red bourban tom, a BBW tom and 2 BBW hens. I also have a bunch of bantam chickens, two Old English Game hens and the rest are mixes. We have like 50 or so layers on the farm though. My biggest focus is the rabbits though, I breed and show Standard Rex. Looking to learn more about showing birds though, we plan on attending the spring show. =3

welcome wolfie, and I may be at the spring show as well with my DD. It is supposed to be quite a bit bigger this year with the 4H Paloosa being included. Should be a good turn out.

I haven't, didn't get a ahold of them when I called, I will try again tomorrow before we head out, though it seems a bit pointless by then. hmm.png I see that you went back in, I hope all goes well for you and that you are feeling much better soon. hugs.gif

Nooooo, I didn't. hit.gif It has been a long, hard, exhausting, and stressful week. I love my kids, but trying to get anything done with them in near on impossible. I am sure if I had ever had just a few hours to work on it by myself, it would have been done in no time. But no, instead I get two screws in, and someone has stepped in chicken poop.  Or needs a drink. Or stubbed their toes. Can't find their underwear, which was on their butt last I checked. Needs their bike helmet on. Need their bike helmet off. Peed their pants. Wants to change their clothes.

And Kaia chopped her hair off while I was working on it yesterday. hit.gif All those little curls! She went in to pee, and when she seemed to be taking a bit too long, I went in to check on her to see if she needed help. There she sat with her little "child safe" craft scissors, with her hair all around her. *sigh*

Anyway, I am almost done. I finished the frame this morning, got the floor in the coop, and the doors cut. Made a ramp and got it all painted this evening. Then I spent an hour looking for the blasted staple gun to put the chicken wire on, which soaked up almost the entirely of the movie I'd put on to keep them occupied so I could work for a minute. barnie.gif It's a pretty nice electric staple gun, but it still didn't drive the staple all the way in, so I had to hammer each one in as I went. I got one side done, and by then it was really too late to be making so much noise, and I was being eaten alive by mosquitoes anyway. I stretched the wire as tight as I could, but it went all floppy anyway, so I am really frustrated with that as well. Kind of ruins the nice job I was doing! I was rather proud of myself up until that point.  roll.png

So in the morning I need to get chicken wire on the other side, and the end, then cut the tin roof to size and screw it on. I would have called you for help, but this week has been so crazy and sucky that I was not about to let anyone in my house, and trying frantically as I was to finish the ****** tractor I couldn't take the time to tidy things up and make them presentable.

We were supposed to leave tonight, but I haven't even packed, so I guess we'll leave tomorrow, which I am not looking forward to. We normally make the 3 hour drive at night, so that the kids sleep through it. Ugh. I too exhausted and upset about everything now to care.

Sorry, I didn't hear the phone! I was probably outside baptizing the tractor with tears. tongue.gif

coffee big cup.jpgFinally got tired of waking up, checking my watch, and finding out how little it had advanced.  I seems every time I have to be up for a reason, I have difficulty sleeping.  I am headed for Cabela's in Dunde this morning to help a friend, who reps for a lure company and of course I've set my alarm clock but I keep waking to check it.

I was nice to see Raz yesterday and have the opportunity to visit with him.  I met him last year at Chickenstock but really was able to speak more than a few moments.  I'm glad that he will be able to put the apple wood to good use.  It would have been a shame to have seen it just burnt up as firewood to heat a garage.

I hope that Mom 2em All finds herself well on the way to recovery when she awake this morning.  I'm sure she has been touched to read of everyones concern.  That outpouring of compassion is what makes this thread a truly wonderful experience.  There are so many helpful and compassionate people visiting here who genuinely care about their fellow members.

Its Saturday?  I thought you were headed to DF on Sunday? Im so confused,. I wanted to try and meet you somewhere to give you Nova's chicks. But if you are headed out today, I will be in Brighton meeting Ferret.

Hang in there- those little ones eventually grow. My kids are two years apart and seems that my days were just like what you described, and my Kayla used to cut all her hair off all the time, as well....once so short I told her we were going to call her Tyler...the three of them used to make it impossible to get anything accomplished. love.gif  Then one day, they are 18, 16 and 14 and you wonder how time went so fast.

hugs.gifHang in there.

Good Morning Sam!

I feel much better this morning than I did yesterday. Everyones well wishes and concern make me feel special and important and I appreciate it very much.  Its nice to know that someone cares- and here on the MIchigan thread, its nice to know SO MANY people care. We are a great group.  I am very blessed to know such a wonderful group of people.

Last night I was actually able to lay down and sleep. Was very nice compared to the night before. As long as I move slow, I think I will be okay today.
