Finally.  My computer decided to act wonky today, but it's back on track now.  I lost everything I wanted to reply to originally so I'll generalize with sorry for any losses and love the chick pics.

I let the chickens out early today and they were very eager to be out and about.  As soon as I opened the coop door it was a stampede of feathers as they all ran out.  After that, they spent some time digging around the compost pile and pig pen until DH came out to take care of the pigs.  They thought DH was bringing them out a treat as well and stalked him all over the yard while he worked.  DH wasn't overly amused by their attention as much as I was. lau.gif  It is my fault, I admit, since I'm usually taking a treat out to them when I go outside.  It was funny, too, when I was making cookies this afternoon.  Every time I went near the window, they would spot me and come running over.  Nothing like a bunch of chickens looking up at you with a 'well?  throw us a treat already!' look on the faces.  Silly, silly chickens. tongue.png

eta- our 2 bantam girls are laying every day now and since we had 10 my daughter decided to make mini deviled eggs tonight.  They were too cute and very good.  I told her the next family thing we go to we are going to bring them just to see what everyone thinks of the little egg bites.  big_smile.png

Welcome back- missed you. Surgery went well...recovery did not. Pure hell first 36 hours..dont recommend surgery until you know a pain med you can take besides Motrin. Friday, I coughed and tore something and within four hours my abdomen began to turn black with a bruise..well, now my entire abdomen from sternum to pubic bone hip to hio is black. pure black. Been going to my regular dr to monitor my blood level- it is not still bleeding so I will be okay. Cant find anything I can eat though. Been miserable.

I do them at work. Same as birds, pretty much..but along with the scope, you need Fecasol solution, and a coverslip.. and coccidia can be very hard to identify.

Its supposed to rain off and on most the day. Yay! Today is a gravy day. The bottoms of my feet are swollen. I hate when that happens. Makes walking painful. Almost feels like they are water logged, which I guess they are. But I think its more likely they are tired and I really need to sit back and do nada for a day or so.

I got home from work, managed to skip between the rain drops, so not soaked. My boys have both taken over my bed again. Lol. Little weirdos. Guess I will go crash on theirs.

rain walk.gifIt looks like the weather is going to be a little damp for awhile.  With the heat and now the rain the probability of having to mow my lawn in March is increasing.

coffee hot.gif  With today's forecast I think staying near the coffee pot might be prudent.

Is there a Tracotr Supply, or Family Farm and Home around there.  Must be.  They usually have it.

Sorry, that's the quick answer.  Google hay and straw farms in Lansing   Local farms usually advertise, and sell, straw, hay, and field grasses at a more reasonable price, however, best to check their stock and make sure it's been stored correctly.  I've seen some pretty bad product rotated in front of last years.  TSC and FFH usually have some nice stuff.

That's not a probably Sam, my grass is already up a few inches from where it was last week.  I told my wife I have to clip the field next week already and that's usually a memorial day thing.

Soladan's feed store on Grand River Ave, east of Marsh, in Okemos usually has straw.
