Bianca, I can not believe you have penned up children! I love their pens... I wish I had 2. I have 2 boys that could use them...

Why yes they are! big_smile.png I knew I got the Lakenvelder chicks wrong. Thank you, I believe you're right. It's the third one and i had two of them hatch. So excited. The ones that came from my eggs are all black with white bums...and some have white on their heads (probably mixed with my barred rocks). I am still waiting for 2 more to hatch but the incubator is so quiet I am wondering if they won't. :(

I took a chance and stuffed them all (yes all 16) under Mavis. She happily adopted them in and then promptly hissed at me and took a piece of my forearm (Owww!!).  There is a heat lamp in the brooder room so that Mavis doesn't have to feel so nervous about keeping them all warm but they all fit nicely there in the nest box with her. lol

Babygyrl, cute cute CUTE! I however am not in love with your table. I love wood... BUT, I hate Hate HATE fingerprints... LOL. And I hate covering with plastic even more. I had this beautiful 6 foot queen anne and I would get so mad when I'd clean it, then the inlaws would come over and their nasty handed little snots would put their fingers all over the edges and try and see their reflections in the gloss... UGH!

Boy, did I just sound anti child?

Well anyway, I sold the table when I got divorced and moved to a small apt. I was not going to leave that table for the ex's family, since he was letting them take the house over since he didn't want it either. lol

While my table looked fantastically glossy in the picture, it is actually a rustic finish. The middle section is a bamboo inlay....and guess what...it doesn't pick up fingerprints. wink.png

Congrats on the chicks babigyrl. I am so happy they hatched for you. Any Marans or Penedesenca's hatch?

Yes, I have Marans too. My eggs all hatched looking like Marans chicks (unfortuneatly no feathered feat out of the bunch) so it was hard to decifer which chicks were Marans and which were Marans x EE mixes. The one egg you gave that was a Spash...I have no idea which one it was. They all hatched so fast yesterday that it was hard to keep up. Of the 16 that have hatched. 12 of them are from your eggs. :) All the ones I pictured were from your eggs.

I have one Penedesenca in the bator that made it to lock down. It has pipped but there has been no action in it for a while. My bator has been quiet since I took the last chick out. Today is officially hatch day...so we will see if any further progress gets made. pop.gif

I sure hope the Penedesenca hatches out. I gave you two or three of them eggs.
