Wait... maybe I'll take the geese, too.  They can't crap up the yard (pun intended) any more than the dog, right?

LOL!  Well... I guess that depends on the kind of dog.

They do poop while they're grazing, but they mostly poop at night, so you'll have one area where they poop quite a bit, but it's contained to that area (and they tend to pick a sleep spot and stick with it).  I just go over and rake up every so often and throw it in the compost.  It also washes away easily with a hose or good soaking rain.

The geese are awesome and I don't just say that because I'm selling them.  I've been a proponent of geese on small farms for years. They by FAR out perform what they require to raise.  If you're really interested shoot me a PM and I'll give you the full pitch. wink.png

Anyone have any ideas for a good tree to plant in soggy, boggy ground? Willows are the only thing coming to mind, and I would like to plant something that will do well in that area of the property.

Cottonwoods like wet feet, don't they?  Course they're messy but not as messy as willows.

I have this sneaking suspicion Olive's going to talk me into the geese :-/

I so need to redo the dogs penned area... I want more area for the chickens.. LOL. AND I think If I have more area for the ducks, they'd do less damage. I have an acre thats pretty much available. The woods... well they aren't really, and I am not going to cut trees back there. TO much work. AND I can't let them ducks wander... They wander over to the stream! LOL. BUT, If they had more room, and the dogs a little less, I am thinking they'd tear up less... (tear and tear, spelled the same... pronounced different...)

ANYWAY, they have 6 foot high fence at TSC, 100 feet long for $129...I am tempted to return the fence that I got from FFH... maybe... and get the TSC fence. OH BOY, I could build one heck of a coop and run with that! LOL. Well, more than one coop and run.

Keyt, I loved your reclaimed tractor!

There is an add on CL that has free skids and crates. I am hoping I can sucker the neighbour into getting his FIL trailer, and taking me to get some. I could build a few more coops out of that and pens. I like free.

I need some silkies. Anyone with in a 1 hour drive who has any pullets... cockerals will be fine too... keep the inbreeding levels lower... I'd meet half way? Roger needs some girls. I have the quarantine coop. I also have  fencing to be able to make a separate run... I just need some girls...

At the very least, wipe the poop off your feet before getting in the car.

Peanut butter and coffee no bakes...

2 cups sugar

1 tsp vanilla (I just pour in a dollup)

3 tbsp cocoa

1/4 cup butter (must be butter!)

1/2 cup milk (whole is better, 2% is fine, 1% will do, skim WILL NOT)

2/3 cup peanut butter (if you like them less fudgy, use 1/2 cup)

3 cups quick oats (if you do old fashioned, you'll have hard qritty cookies)

1/4 cup mixed chocolate/peanut butter chips (Optional)

1 tbsp instant coffee (preferably not decaf, but brand of your choice, I am a Mountain blend kinda girl)

In a mixing bowl put the oatmeal.

In pan, boil sugar, vanilla, butter, milk, peanut butter cocoa and coffee. Let it boil for about 3 minutes, no more. Pour it over the quick oats and mix well. before dropping on to wax paper, mix the chips in... Or place them in the cookies after you've dropped them using a teaspoon for small, tablespoon for large cookies. ( I mix mine in at the last minute)

Let stand until firm, usually about an hour... UNLESS you have a drop sheet... I do not, I have a counter...

IF your cookies turn out too gooey, don't set proper, either you didn't boil long enough, or you need a bit more oats. You can tell when mixing if you don't have enough oats. The mix will be too runny. So, keep a 1/2 cup of oats on hand when you are making it in the event that you need to add a bit.

These cookies are great from Evil Grandparent to make and hype the littles up with before sending home with Mom and Dad. HEEHEE

You can add nuts if you like... DO NOT USE CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER. To much oil in the nuts, leaks out and makes them not set.

Anyway, hope my recipe works out for ya'll who like no bakes. I get dozen of orders for my no bakes during the holidays and this is one of the favorites.

Those are nice looking!

If I ever get geese, it will be Sebastapols. I love how they look. And I am an ornamental/eye candy kinda girl. LOL. That'd give the neighbors some thing to stop and gape at!
