RIRJen, I'm so sorry that you had such a rough day at work.

Cute kids!! I watched your video for a minute. When I taught myself how to crochet I bought a small book with the basics, but I just had to SEE it being done so i spent a bunch of time on youtube. It's incredible what you can find on there! So that's where I'd go if you want to see new things.

Now I'm not denying that there are some jerks out there on a power trip, its so sad that those are.the ones that grab the headlines....ok, I'm off my soap box now.

I didnt think that at all, and I wasn't saying all cops are jerkfaces or anything. THAT situation is what made me mad, I wasn't stereotyping anybody. I couldn't believe that particular cop's behavior and I just found it very upsetting that nothing came of that man's dog being slain for no reason. Not even an apology.

Thanks! I'll have to try to remember to look that up when I get back into crocheting...Ive set it aside for now, doing all that spring outdoor stuff :)

It is nice to see the sun even if it is a little cold out there.

SO! Who would like to hear the adoption story? Well, you are going to hear it anyway. HA.

I brought Skatter back to the dog house. She settled down, fluffed her self all up. I went to FFH, I know, I said they would get my business, but they had day old chick. TSC, they did not. I got 2 SLWs and 2 GLWs. I kept Skatters coop dark... I took the chicks to her, shoved them under her, and she went BALLISTIC! Attacking me, then when she realised the chicks were under her, SHE WENT EFFEN NUTS! She was attacking them poor babies and flinging them from under her. I mean FLINGING THEM! SO, I grabbed her butt up, threw her out of the dog coop and checked the chicks, they are ok. I looked at Leila.... Ah hell with it, I reach under her, grabbed her 2 eggs which are due today, but nada... and put them in the coop with the chicks, Then got her out, set her on top of the eggs, she saw the baby chicks, fluffed all up and started clucking at them, and they were under her in an instant. SO, now I will keep an eye on her and the eggs and hope they hatch right. I am not hatching those in my bra. I was thinking I could give them to Skatter, but the way she went apeshit makes me leery...

SO, there it is. I am not going to be able to give her chicks. I am going to let her have the eggs from today, put her food and water in the large nest box with her, and chicken wire it and leave her in the big coop like Skeeter was. Rotten witch.

She sounds like a terror!!

Ok so still no phone call from that job today. I know people say that, "i'll call you", but not USUALLY when they've put that much into interviewing twice & discussing salary. But I guess it's possible. I think I'm gonna call tomorrow to "bug" them about it, see what happens. Went to about 5 more places today and dropped off resumes...hope something pans out. I hate my current job with a flaming passion.

Sarah - good idea to follow up with them.

Sarah, call them tomorrow and say "I wanted to check with you and make sure you didn't have any other questions for me". That puts the ball back in their court, and lets them know you are interested.

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

That's a great way to go about it, 1muttsfan

4 ISA Brown chicks, 4 Easter Egger chicks, 1 Peking duckling, 1 Indian Runner duckling, 1 Buff orp chick, 1 RIR chick, 1 SLW chick, 2 kids under 6, one overworked husband.

nod.gif Or even call and just say you wanted to check in and make sure you didn't somehow miss their call.

Juise, the comments are really interesting...and some quite rude. You have absolutely adorable children! :) I hope I get to meet you all at Chickenstock!  smile.png

SOOOOOO excited! Had to share :)   One of my shipped eggs is now pipping and another one is rocking like it's in a disco! lol.png  But that's not the exciting news for tonight...I am meeting up with some friends tomorrow who are picking up one of my hares to go home with some of their friends who are visiting from Japan. The friends I know here in the USA judged at a show over in Japan and made some wonderful friends and now those friends are in Michigan visiting and want one of my hares. The really really REALLY cool part is that the hare(s) they take to Japan will more then likely be the only Belgian Hares in all of Japan! I'm very excited and will (of course) share pictures!
