I just can't believe that they had these on their faces. Two of the boys will be mowing my lawn and building my chicken coop with us. Their dad was ****** to say the least, and volunteered them to come over everyday after school for the next month. And on the plus side my chickens are getting their 'grown up' feathers!

That's wonderful! Sounds like those kids were really being "buttheads". Hopefully they have learned their lesson.

Random info, i found this handy chart while doing some research:

It is a dosing chart for chicken meds!  I have a notebook where i keep the info i find, never know when you may need it. So nice to find a whole chart!  :)

When I built my first raised box garden bed, I used newspapers to smother the grass, and then dumped 9 inches of soil and compost. This year I am using cardboard to smother. So much easier.
At the very least, wipe the poop off your feet before getting in the car.

You can get dwarf blueberry bushes and grow them in containers!

The floating bog at EMU's Fish Lake campus (Lapeer) is covered with them. Of course they are the native V. angustfolium and V. corybosum.   I haven't found any good literature on pear trees (Pyrus spp.) that are good for wet feet areas. But there are scads of varieties and cultivars out there. Fruit trees are not my forte so I'll have to research more sources.

The containers will sit on TOP of your terrain.  Duh!

Just a little word to the wise, put fence around anything you plant until it gets established.  Your geese LOVE saplings.
