Trying to decide between bringing some stuff with me to Chickenstock, and not having to sit in one place all day... How do those of you that bring things work that out?

My mother hurt her back today sad.png

She wasn't even doing anything strenuous at the time! She was rifling around in her work bag, and when she stood up strait, TWANG, instant crippling agony! Good thing she works at a hospital, she hobbled down to the ER (which was empty at the time, lucky break). She is getting an MRI tomorrow after an x-ray today revealed they need a clearer look. Of all the things that got hurt, it had to be the back! I am worried, but am here to take care of her. I just hope she can recover without a surgical fix.

vj- I think you were the one who wanted to see a pic of a bantam chicken next to a standard.  This one was taken a few weeks ago.  All the chickens are a year old and the little orange/white roo in the middle was our Gomer.  I had a porcelain d'uccle roo that was the same size as him, but we last him earlier this year.  My only bantam left is a sebright hen and she is slightly smaller than what Gomer was.

Stacykins - That has happened to me several times. No fun. sad.png Sorry your mum got hurt. I have had good luck with just a good chiropractor. One of my FILs is a recently retired spinal surgeon, He does not recommend surgery for almost anything. He lost patients time and again for that, people don't want to hear, "You need to take it easy on your back for a handful of months, you need to get lots of rest, and let your body heal." They want to hear, "Sure, let's do a quick surgery and we'll get it all straightened out for you." Surgeries usually complicate things and make them worse in the long run, though. So I would recommend that she get a second opinion, or third, honestly, if she is told she needs surgery before she commits.

What kind of "stuff"?

The nice thing about Chickenstock is that there are plenty of folk to look after your "stuff" so you can wander around.

Sorry to hear that. Backs can be quirky. Hopefully it is just a pulled muscle or something minor.

Don't you just hate it when you have typed something quite profound, or extremely funny, only to have it disappear into cyber-space?  So I will try again but I'm sure it won't be as funny or as deep as the original that I can no longer remember.

Little kids never cease to amuse me.  Today Hope's 3 year old grandson was watching and questioning my every move as I wrapped eggs to ship.   After sealing the box and was headed out the door for the post office, he wanted to know where I was taking the eggs.  I explained that they were going to a man in another state that wanted to hatch some baby chickens.

When I returned his parents had come to pick him up and he was busy telling them how he had helped me wrap eggs to send to a man in Opahoma.
