I am quite jealous of where you live.

I think there might be both types of rue anemone in the picture. The False Rue Anemone is a good bit taller and the leaves are deeply lobed and occur in sets of 3.  Rue anemone grow to about 4 inches high, their leaves are groups of 5 to 8, just below the flowers.

If you are out in the woods or swamps, a good book to have is "Wildflowers of Michigan Field Guide" by Stan Tekiela. It's small enough to carry in a pocket and groups the flowers by colour.
I had a laugh when Juise said this- (Unless Raz says they aren't tongue2.gif ) lol.png
Thanks for IDing the flowers. I sorta knew that they were part of the Anemone family by the look of the flowers.

Needless to say she is back at the trainers right now being re-trained. I do love her though. She is an awesome dog. Has no problem herding the barn cats.
I would love to have our dog trained! She is very scared of the calves and Bella, and won't go past the chicken coop to where they are. And plus some other issues, like not greeting us when we come home, not obeying half of the time, etc. he.gif She is almost 9 months old.

Whoa! The multi quote is a lot easier! All the quotes are separate from each other, no more trying to find and separate them! woot.gif

I often laugh at with Juise as well.

IDing flowers can get tricky. I've had several taxonomy classes and it is always a challenge. We were always quizzed on the Genus, species, family and common name. We had to get them all correct in order to get full credit. These 2 were especially difficult for me as they are in the Buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) not true Anemone family.  Prof was tough, if we misspelled the names, he deducted a 1/4 point for each error.

I have a book and I'm still hopeless.  One of these days I want to get someone out here to identify the bushes/trees/whatever I've got going on on my property.  Yet another project on the list.

When having problems with chickens stop and think, what would Harlan do?
I've dealt with many thorns in my life and the flower is always worth the effort.

I might a bit later!  Right now it would be "Do you know what these sticks with buds on them are?"  (actually I do have quite a few things with leaves but I imagine it would be easier if I could also post the blooms)

Nova, I used to have to mow grass until Olive dumped all her geese on me!  (Now I rake poop - but it is pretty amazing how nice they keep the lawn!  It was sorely in need of a mow when I picked them up a week and a half ago and now, with the exception of a few small tufty areas, it looks great!)
