I wish you the best of the luck, but lets call a spade a spade.  If you have any intention of arguing your case with the RTFA you are, indeed, claiming to be a farmer with a farm. The very description of the Act is, "to provide for circumstances under which a farm shall not be found to be a public or private nuisance".  Section 2, not even a quarter of the way down the first page of the act, defines a "farm" as, "the land, plants, animals, buildings, structures, including ponds used for agriculture or aquacultural activities, machinery, equipment and other appurtenances used in the commercial production of farm products."

Every single protective provision in the act begins with "A farm or farm operation...", the latter being very similarly defined as the first.  If you're not a "farm or farm operation" it does not apply to you.  If you're going to walk in there and claim you have protection under it, you are by extension claiming to be have a farm.

You gotta do, what you gotta do.  At least own your actions, though.

Shamrock, your modern games are lovely!  I'd never seen them before, but what a neat bird.  And those legs!  (I also second (third?  fifth?  tenth?) the compliments on your writing.  You come across very well.)

Raz, glad you're not in prison.  For a chicken.  Can you imagine that conversation "in the yard"?

You know, when we first came up with the code name for Olive, the first thing I thought of was not Pimento, but Martini.  Not sure why...

I love the dog-in-screen tales.  I'm going to have to figure out something.  I wouldn't care so much but I know the cat is going to find the holes the dog made and then run off.  Which is a problem in and of itself but really he would have a hard time coming back to the house and meowing to get in because he appears to be afraid of the geese.

Now that I finally have my coop done (Well, mostly.  Well, enough for inhabitants.) the chicks are really enjoying life.  Though they seem confused about things like worms they accidentally scratch up.  Which is OK, I guess, since Opa's banties just run over and steal them.  I think they're cold at night, but it hasn't been that cold here, 50's or so.  They all sleep huddled in a pile in the corner.  Are they going to be OK tomorrow night when it gets down to 38?  I mean they're like 7 weeks old and, with the exception of a few tufty bits, seem fully feathered.  Are they just sissies?

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Truth be told, when I spring for another tractor it'll be a Deere.  Speaking of  Jillaroo, the ACD, she's actually playing nice and watching my KC duckling as it zooms around the yard.  A huge training step I never thought would happenthumbsup.gif

That one's far more fitting.  LOL!  Only... a bit girly.  Rum & Coke, just doesn't have the same ring to it though, does it?

Martinis are girly?

It's not like I suggested an Appletini or a Cosmo.

Though I always thought of martinis as sophisticated so...  (well, I did until my friend from Boston spent a night spilling them on my toes.  I think they held his liquor better than he did.)
