The good news is that they'll be big enough to make a nice soup when they start crowing.  wink.png

When I have moved my broodies, I had them confined until the hatch was complete. Left them confined for several days, then let th do as they please when it seems they are ready... Usually about 2 weeks.

I had no idea that broodies did that!  My DD thought Baby Girl had completely lost it and went crazy.  gig.gif

Thanks for the info.  Not looking forward to a nighttime op.  Our pole barn is a bit crowded and I am not very swift or graceful, to say the least.  I'll give it a try tomorrow.  Wish me luck, for I know there will be some off-balance breakage of some sort.  Gads, I'm such a klutz.  tongue.png

Oh, I forgot to ask.  I'll be taking the crate to her so I'm thinking I need to make it nest-y before hand.  Do I just use straw, shavings or is there something different more suited for it?  Do I move her first or the eggs?

Do straw. I have had better luck with that. I have had to chicks get lost in the shavings..

Can someone tell me if there is anyone in Michigan that would have Araucanas chicks or eggs for sale.  I have been trying to hatch them with no luck.

4 horses, 21 Araucanas, 6 blue marans and a whole bunch of mutt chickens.

Well, Juise I have a bunch of morning glory seeds that are yours if you want them but not good to eat... for kids or chicks... so...idunno.gifThey are white w/pink and purple...They drop seeds like crazy and come back at my moms every year.

Raz... you need a good groomer? (for the dogs!!!lol.png) Those are some purdy gals you got! *sniff sniff I miss my golden mix*

I am now over loaded with reading material... I got 2 healing remedy books (let me know if you want me to look up something!), Living With Chickens, a space book (for the youngin') and a human anatomy book. Oh and I got my new issue of PetEdge ordering catalog...

I was wondering what the normal amounts DE comes in... in PEdge they have a 5oz jar for $10... I will have to do some research...

LWChickens has some interesting illustrations for candling and... preparing for freezer camp (real photos for some of that)...

BF was having a good day after buying a new flashlight, that to the untrained eye looks darn close to the one he already had.roll.png He informed me of all the new and improved features. I guess he deserves to pick out a goodie every once in a while too.tongue.png

It was a good day until he found that the dog has eaten his pack of Oreos he left out. BUMMER!!!

I will be monitoring the bandit... He has had chocolate before with no ill effects, but I am not sure how many cookies he got his paws on!barnie.gif

Here is a good story!!! While shopping for books a lady comes into the isle my son and I are in and bends down with her rear right at our face levels ( I kneeling with my 3yo) All I could think was "Lady, you better not... ep.gifDid she just... or was that a book landing on the shelf funny???"

She stood up right after and stuck around for a while... maybe trying to cover it up... I dunno... Either way, I would never aim my rear toward someone if the other direction was clear!!!! WTH??? I was more embarrased than she was!!!

Got some good playtime outside this weekend! Some good coop building time!!! BF hung shelves in my sons closet so I can FINALLY get all the games, puzzles, toys... that don't need to be out all the time, up and away!yesss.gif

I am getting really excited!! I only have two more days of my high school career FOREVER!! celebrate.gif Commencement is June 1st, but the seniors get out earlier than the rest of the school. I will not miss anything about high school except for a few of my favorite teachers and most of my classmates.
