dontcha hate when that happens!

Morning! Its already a balmy 81 here. Looks like a pool day for me!

Anyway, my pullet is worse today. She's still eating drinking and walking around, still skeets, and even thinner today than yesterday. I know it doesn't take long for a bird to lose weight. I am bringing her in to the kitchen in the cat carrier. Give her special attention to get her weight back up. If a day or two in the kitchen doesn't help, I am afraid I will have to cull her. I am going to take some of the poopy feathers to the vet this morning, get a worm check. I'd hate to miss that and attribute this all to heat. These are free range birds... who knows what they find to eat, and since snails, crickets, earthworms carry.... 

Well off to get stuff done while its still relatively nice out.

The drawing is the singer Jonathan Davis from Korn, as his other personna, DJ, JDevil.. I used a basic #2 writing pencil.

I like electronica, dup and other heavy bass music and have been enjoying his spin.. (JD will be in MI on July 20th and I SOOOOOOOooooooooo want to go!!)

Anyway... (grandma), it's hard to describe what the drawing means.. sometimes, it just is what it is.   

JDevil, is a bad boy that likes pushing the general establishment... and at things I can't mention here, and government etc.... and I tried to capture the "naughtiness"....though you can't see it here, he wears black contacts and sometimes black grills (teeth covering) to enhance his devil personna..... for me it's just fun..  I've met Jonathan and he's really a nice, endearing guy.  He loved my other drawings I did and was very admiring and complementary.

Hows her crop nova?  Could she have sour crop?

Her crop is good. That was one of the first things I checked. I even stuck my nose in her mouth! Not kidding. I mean, its wide open from her breathing.

A friend of mine is looking to add 4-6 hens to her flock, so I get to shop for her at Chickenstock since she can't make it.  If anyone has non-babies let me know and I'll look for you at CS.  :)

Also- Anyone have any good Kid-Friendly tent-camping site recommendations in Michigan?  

If anyone is interested I plan on bringing some Cuckoo Marans chicks and some older white Silkie chicks to CS. I Have too many white ones to keep them all.

soooo......I think I sweet talked DH into helping me build a second coop.  Maybe.  Does anyone in MI have standard-size BLRWs?  Or is anyone in the Traverse/Cadillac/Manistee area going to be incubating some eggs and wouldn't mind hatching a few for me?  :)
