You dastardly dude! How can you live with yourself and your criminal ways! LOL

At the very least, wipe the poop off your feet before getting in the car.

In reality, I should have been rescuing the dog, who came streaking out of the grass with her tail between her legs, and a chicken hot on her trail! Molly disturbed my black copper marans and her two week old chicks, and was getting the tar knocked out of her by the angry hen.

Thankfully, no dogs or chickens were actually harmed, and the dog learned not to trifle with a hen and chicks.

LOL! My cat learned not to get to close to the girls when I had all them cockerels. They took after her so bad that she didn't come home for 4 days! My mom was so worried that she got hit by a car, or the cockerels hurt her so bad she died in the woods. LOL. That cat... She's a funny thing, but she won't go near roosters. LOL

I assume you are directing that at me AND that you have been talking to my Mom.

I have been told for decades that I am evil incarnate.

Raz - did you end up installing cameras?  Might be a good idea if the crazies are working together.

Famerboy - I hope you have a great hatch from all your eggs.

Last week I broke 5 broodies this week I have 5 more.  My broody cornish went a couple rounds with my male guinea.  I had to actually break it up. I did get my coop cleaned.  I didn't do the through scrub but vacuumed out and wiped down.  I moved the youngsters in plus the 4 Orloffs from the dog crate.  They are all the same size so hopefully it goes ok. So I am down to two coops now.  41 in the big and 21 in the small.  It works for now since they free range all day and have the yard when I'm gone but I have some eliminating to do before winter. Anyone want a bantam sizzle roo?  Elvis is driving the girls crazy but not in a good way.

I do have a question regarding Sizzle, Showgirl and Silkies.  Do they roost?  They are the only youngsters left that puppy pile in the corner still. They are three months old now.

Trying to count my 60+ chickens.  Polish, Ameraucana, Welsummer, Cornish, Production Red, Cochin, Cuckcoo Maran, Black Austrolorp, Sizzle, Showgirl, Silkie, OEG, Partridge Rock, Russian Orloff, Dorking, Basque.  Tough...

Really? But you have chickens... and a skunk... and dogs... And you like to grow pretty weeds! And not the kind you smoke...

Roger roosts 5 feet up off of the ground... He starts by going up the ladder to get into the coop, then turns around, jumps on a ledge that is 3 feet up, then jumps up 2 more feet to the 5 foot roost. Both Snow and White are roosting 2 feet up... And when before the hawk took out Minnie, she'd roost on the roost that was 3 feet up off the floor, which was the highest roost in the big coop... SO yes, silkies will roost. OH! AND Belle Mai and Rod Stewart, both silkie crosses roost 6 feet up off the garage floor. They get up on a 3 foot table, then up to their roost that is 6 feet up... SO, yeah... They didn't start roosting though until they saw everyone else up high. They kinda followed suit. They started out on roost that were only a foot off the floor, but soon went to the top like everyone else.

No smokables here, but it seems like all living things here are somehow illegal.

You can write to city council, the mayor, the city manager and the judge.  Some of them are open to discussion and some have already decided my fate.  The website is: http://www.gardencitymi.org/2010department.asp?p=administration&c=gcc

Reading and caught up on the posts & making mine quick for I'm beat.

Famerboy....I forgot the mention earlier that I loved the pics of your emus.

Long story short in the fruit loop saga......heard it through the husbands grapevine ( her DH to mine)  this afternoon that she never like the idea of me having a rooster from the beginning and figured she'd just have to live with the fact. Then she heard I got another rooster. She thinks I got Shelby just to be spiteful!  WTH???   My DH told her DH that it was a typical mishap when getting the chicks, said it's quite common & happens all the time!!  And here's the funniest part of the whole thing..... which probably added to her wigging out on me....Her grandson, who she babysits daily & who is fascinated with the roosters and their sounds, wakes up every afternoon from his nap and the first thing he does is crow!! LMBO!!

Finally back and actually living in MI now.

Not going to try and catch up on 6 weeks of post but from the couple pages I have read, prayers and good thoughts out to everyone who is sick or has family sick and not doing well.   RaZ good luck, it sounds like your saga continues with Gov BS.  I totally agree with you on the wasting tax money to prosecute frivolous issues like a small flock of chickens that are not creating noise issues.

BTW Good Morning everyone.  smile.png
