Daron - Do you still have Longcrowers ??? I want some. ![]()

I posted the link. I thought about butchering my own chickens but after looking at the link....eh....I'll just pay someone else to do it. LOL
Same here......I didn't watch the video for I use to watch my GF & F butcher when I growing up so I know what it's all about. I'll just work a few more hours to cover the expense! lol
Here's a pic of the egg I got the other day weighed 3.5 oz / 98g. First time I got one that was so oblong looking. I had it for breakfast and when my DD cracked it open...surprise, a double yolker.

I am from Sparta! Have fun here!
Also, glad that your sister's operation whet well, was praying for her.

The doctors have found what is causing him to have these problems. His 5th and 14th chromosomes have for some reason had broken off, so the blueprint for Micah was missing information to build him, resulting lots of problems. Plus the broken parts had reattached themselves to the different parts of the chromosomes, making the building process confused with the misinformation. I am so sad for the little guy, but I know that God knows what is best for him and all of us. We still continue to treat Micah as a human being, which he is very much so, and love him as part of the family. I love him, even though I have never held him or met him.Rebuilding my Farm again thread- http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=587948

Daron - So sorry to hear about your nephew.

For you guys that wet down the pen and put sprinklers/misters in there......Doesn't it get pretty messy and gross? I mean with the mud, dirt, poop & all. What do you have for the flooring in your run? My coop is on grass & we move every 3 wks. so I was thinking of wetting the run down for them because so many of you do.
You're not making mud pies, just putting down a thin layer of water to provide evaporative cooling. Or, in the case of a sprinkler, you'd want one that could mist. I don't do the chickens, but the heat is much harder on pigs and any that are penned in a heat wave like this get their pen sprayed down and wallow refilled mid-day.

Oh Daron! My heart aches for your family, especially Micah's Mommy! I will pray for a miracle, and that he beats all he odds against him.

I spray down the trees around the coops, hose off the coops, and do like Olive said, just wet the ground. THE UNDERRUN THOUGH! That is a different story, it does turn to a mud puddle for a few minutes because the chickies really know how to make dust baths/holes in them, so those holes are ponds for a minute. LOL. If you feel the air right after a cold spray, it really does cool those areas off for a bit. The birds will be chilling out there shortly after a spray down. Well, mine do.

They sound like catoon tires sreeching![]()

I have wood chips/mulch/shrubs, and a couple bushes in there. When I wet it down, it doesnt get muddy or gross- (my own yard is a different story).
me, too. Prayers for the entire family and for little Micah.
