He was really creepy/weird in "Eyes wide shut". I preferred Val Kilmer in "Top Gun" (Iceman).

Legend... Loved that one. It was pre-self deluded jerk years. I liked the first Mission Impossible.

MMMMM. Val Kilmer... First think I ever saw him in was a Billy The kid Movie... Only I can not remember the name of it. Was not one of the popular versions. I think just a tv version. And then Willow. He was delicious in Willow.

I am thinking I really aught to put my birds in for the night. Looks like I do not have to hang frozen milk jugs tonight. Its cooled off pretty good here. Had a nice lovely breeze off the lake for a bit, and that sure made the difference. Even shut the air off.

Ah my gawd, this is my first year calculating how much haaaaaaaaay I need for my animals for a year. I know it is a no brainer for people who have kept livestock for their entire lives, but it is new math to me! And it all depends on how much the hay bales weigh too, which I don't know yet.

Our 10 acre field hay field (just grass hay) was cut yesterday. We take what we need for the year, they take some to pay for cutting, and the rest is sold. At least conditions for this haying is P-E-R-F-E-C-T. I mean, absolutely perfect. It is sunny, windy, and dry, with nary a raindrop in the forecast for the next ten days. Of course it'll be baled up and protected by then, but WOW. I already took a look at the hay up close, it is nice and leafy, not horribly stemmy!

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Speaking of ducks, another hen has left the yard. I'm down to the 2 drakes and 1 hen with 2 downy butts still in the coop.

I knew they would leave but I thought they would stay a bit longer.

Hey all, not chicken stuff by any means but, one of my major hobbies simce I was a kid is Motocross.  I still race, and restore vintage bikes.  Anyway, Red Bud National is Saturday July 7th.  I work the event (I sell ice for the track owners).  Sound mediocre but believe me it's a 24x7 ordeal putting up with the pro teams, spectators, and campers.  I'm driving a motorhome down and staying July 4th thru the 9th.  My son is racing on Sunday the 8th.  So - anyone that's never seen a motocross race at the top level, wants a good sunburn (or drenching if it rains) should go.  The website is Redbudmx.com.  It's located in Bucanan, MI.

Toatally a social post - nothing to do with chickens, lol!

Ha, gone for a day and look at all the pics!  can't update mine without some decent batteries for my camera.

I think i have a cocoa #2 !   I wish i had pics. Not her body shape, but feather shape and color. Also i thought she layed down all the time because she was sick a lot, but the little guy does it too, and there is nothing wrong with  him! lol. He's also the first to come streaking up when there are goodies involved. (just like his momma)  :)  I will try to keep him as a backup roo.   Still want to try for a silver baby, but at least i have a backup if the worst happens.  (if cocoa or plucky get killed)

Sadly, i was not able to convince DH's uncle to take his FG bunny up north.  He was convinced that the burrow she had dug would protect her, but no.  Predators are getting gutsy and desperate here, i had a hawk swoop  towards the chicken's woods with us in the garden not far away.  We need rain really bad.

I can't remember who I traded one of my pullets for a silver laced wyndotte but it's dying right now. I tried to help her, gave her water and tried to make her/him comfortable. It's looks like she had bloody poop what does that mean? I hope the rest of my chickens will be all right..
