Exactly what I was thinking Opa. As for me, most of my chickens I would consider livestock except my bantams....they are definitely pets. love.gif

The day after I washed my car the fuel pump went out, turned out it and the filler neck needed replacing, then less than 3 weeks later, after I discovered the gas tank now leaked I'm told the engine cradle is rotted and my car is unsafe to drive. I now have a 2000 pound lawn ornament. So, I ain't washing the beat up nasty truck I drive now 'cause it's all I got. barnie.gif

Daron, sorry about Pork Chop.

This morning I moved my last 22 chickens from the garage brooder into the hutch brooder outside with the guineas. They're in one half, the chickens in the other. You'd think they'd be grateful to have bigger digs and stuff to look at and a nice breeze. But noooo, one of the suckers had to stab my finger with their stupid claw. I think it was one of those "gentle" Dominique types. Ungrateful wretches! rant.gif

No rain here yesterday, it all slid by underneath us. Cooler today though, very refreshing.

2 dogs, lots of guineas and too many chickens. No uggos!

Sister is in spectrum. Nancy, I did pass on your warning, she said she is watching that no one touches her with out gloves/sanitizer first.

Well, she has an Asian/Oriental doc. She say she's not even going to attempt to try and pronounce his name yet. He's the liver/pancreas cancer specialist. That's all he does, liver and pancreas. They faxed over everything from Holland, he began reviewing the case and was appalled that Holland, who has no proper facilities/doctors to handle her case, even attempted to do the surgery. He's going to rerun CATs, MRI, proteins and some others to see where she is standing right now. Apparently, according to him, so we'll have to take his word on it, he's dealt with the type of liver she has and said that it was something that should have been easily spotted when they went in with the camera the first time to find the leaks. Anyway, good news is he believes that he will be able to avoid 1/2 liver removal and only one last surgery. Whew... I'd not want to be on the other end of this lawsuit.

SO, there is a hopeful end in sight for her. They've also changed her pain meds as well. She says she's feeling much better mentally already and has confidence that this guy knows what he's doing.

At the very least, wipe the poop off your feet before getting in the car.

Definitely, plus I think pet rocks are more dangerous than pet chickens. They've been known to jump through closed windows.

That's one of the reasons I moved out of the city. Controling nosey busybodies who can't keep their noses in their own back yard and who won't be happy until everyone is as miserable as they are!
On a lighter note, there's a farm house that needs a bit of elbow grease down the road. It sits on 12 acres and they are asking 79,900... you can keep all the critters you want!

 That is too funny. lau.gif

RAIN!!!! celebrate.gif RAIN!!!!!!!!  wee.gifRAIN!!!!!!!!!

I never thought I'd be so excited about rain as I am now!!!

I'm going to breakfast with my best friend...whom I haven't seen in over 6 months which is sad because she doesn't live that far away. Hope I can survive. All night Aric and I have been sick. Aric with his sinuses (heat doesn't do him well) and me with headaches and problems with my feet. When I was first diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis last year I thought warm weather would make me feel better. I had no idea it would be worse!!

I love watching the birds out there when it rains. The light brahmas are out there playing in puddles with the silkies while all the other chickens are inside. The silkies always stay in the rain. The ducks are having a blast, splashing like crazy! I'm sure they're all just glad it's not 100 degrees right now!

Hope everyone has a great day!! =)

Too many chickens and ducks, 3 rabbits, 14 turkeys, 3 dogs and 2 beyond spoiled pot bellied pigs! Oh and 2 kids and one nearly perfect boyfriend!

How many people consider their chickens to be pets?  I'm going to compile a list.

Um, don't the name and pic say it all? lol.  I consider them my $3 parrots, we could use parrots as livestock too, if they weren't so expensive!  Guinie pigs are livestock in some other country!  Yes, i think that guy should take a gander at the "pet chicken" site, and see the non-pet $30 diapers, lol. I don't eat mine, and between trying to encourage broodiness and medicine, and bug treating, and the EE's not winter laying i really don't get a whole lot for eggs, either!  But they LOVE.
