It was explained in the last city council meeting that failure to comply with the weed ordinance could result in fines and jail time.

Several years ago I had planted 6 flowers around my mailbox. Around this same time I had been complaining about a very large tree that supposedly belonged to the city because it was on the opposite side of the sidewalk. It was rubbing on our house and had killed some of the roofing material. No one came out to do anything yet they gave me a $225 ticket for the flowers. I went to court over it because it didn't make sense to me that they would complain about a few flowers, on my side of the sidewalk on the edge of MY yard but they wouldn't take care of their ****** tree that was ruining our house. I won but two years later when we sold the house that tree still hadn't been taken care of. Two years ago a tornado came through and the winds knocked that tree over, straight into what was our bedroom and they had to rebuild that whole upstairs corner.

This is the only thing I hate about small towns and the reason why I'm glad we live outside of town.

It is going too far.  The ordinance states that anything, anywhere over 6" is ticketable so that includes gardens and edging around fences/posts.  I wouldn't even have weeds if the railroad trimmed their property like they are supposed to but they don't get ticketed.  This town goes too far with everything.  I wasn't even moved in when they stopped by about my dogs (pitbulls) which were there while we were painting and cleaning.  Can't even park in the street without a permit and cars must be parked in the driveway not on the lawn ever!

And my taxes, $2000 a year and I paid $14,500 for my house last March!!!!!!!  Fire everyone and let us be!

Does that mean you can't even have a hedge around your yard - that's plant too isn't it? Lordy, I don't think I'd like to live there.

Not sure. I've had a very cockerel heavy year, I've gotten SO many boys and only two females (one an olive egger, one an Araucana) total. So I am hoping to finally get some girls to improve my flock with, haha!

My backyard flock: 9 Araucana girls, 2 Araucana boys, 1 Olive Egger!

I think your law enforcement officers are bored. That doesn't look horrible. The fact that you can grow weeds in this heat is impressive though. All my weeds died a slow horrible death with the grass. Only green I have is where I've watered around the trees and my garden. :: kicks rocks ::

I don't suppose anyone near Lansing or Jackson is going to have Muskovy ducklings anytime soon?

My boyfriend's uncle has started his own farm. It's a LOT bigger than ours but he also grew up here with Aric's mom when this place had 450+ acres. He wants ducks pretty bad so I'm selling him some of mine that have gotten old and need a good place to retire. I have certain ones I'm keeping of course but I figure they'd love it at Dale's place!

So, I've given myself permission gig.gifto get more and this time i want Muskovys. I'm also still looking for another 1 or 2 guinea keets, preferably lavender.

SO, there is a hopeful end in sight for her. They've also changed her pain meds as well. She says she's feeling much better mentally already and has confidence that this guy knows what he's doing.

THANK GOODNESS!!!!fl.gif Please, let this be over for her and your family!
