I spoke to my parents in Jasper and they said it has been 105* out on the farm. That isn't uncommon in Oklahoma but I don't remember it being that warm in the Summer in MI when I lived there. Last Summer I lost 5. I am really hoping this year is better. I imagine Michigan birds aren't as used to the heat? Hope you all are surviving and that the heat breaks and that you (and we) get some rain.

Im sorry the others ran right over you and didnt see your post! Welcome from Michigan! We finally have a break from that horrid heat and most of us got some rain- not all of us, but most of us. What part of Michigan do your folks live in?
Some of us have lost a bird or two, but we have been real lucky. I think we have been doing the same things you have to keep them cool. I run the sprinkler as well, and soak the ground for them. They hang out under the bushes and in whatever cooler areas they can find.
