What breed is the lil guy in the first picture? I know a guy in Raleigh who has a bunch of bantys and he doesn't know what breed they are and he has a lil man that looks just like yours.

Southern,

the 1st pic is silver penciled cochins.
I got them (and the japanese, sebrights, BR's, polish, and
JG) from Cackle Hatchery back in July!

BCM, your setup is great! It reminds me of my highschool days. I had many different breeds in separate pens like yours. That was when I was really into showing. Nowadays, I'm married with children and I don't have time for all that fun stuff. Plus, I'm really into gardening now. My small flock of freerangers is all I have time for. Maybe some day I'll be able to have alot of birds again. Thanks for posting the pics of your beautiful birds.

Really nice pics! What are the black laced (?) hair-do ones? They are gorgeous~! Wish I could have more than 3! Anyone have a spare farm they aren't using? Rent reasonable?

Thanks everyone.

Omeletta,
they are silver laced polish

Broncbuster,

I'm married w/ 3 kids (6, 12, 15) too,
fortunately my kids are into the chickens with me.

My son has the 3 different kinds i noted on the pics, all 5 of the sex links are my youngest DD's, and the little red oegb's in the 2nd picture belong to my oldest DD.

Right now the JG's and 2 red stars are together,
the white cochins and red oegb's are together, and
the japanese and polish are together (they've been together since hatching so no problems yet).
All others are separated by breed.
I am currently working on some more pens so I can separate every breed/color.
I had thought about keeping the breeds together (not worry about separating color), but i'm hesitant about doing that due to breeding pure when I get the eggs.
