Went to town today and grabbed a couple of bags of sunflower seeds (BOSS) and a big bag of meal worms for the seasons chicks to come from Cal Ranch. Saved a cool twenty dollars… best money I made today. I like chicken supplies that can be purchased with… savings! Put my Silver Duckwing OEGB rooster, Sam in one of the pens I have been building, hope to get the other two roosters in their new bachelor pads on the morrow. So, and help me if I am wrong here, it takes two weeks to 'clear out' the hens, so how long after I put them back together should or would I need wait to get fertile eggs again? Mystery chicks are ok from the hatchery, but I want to know the answer to 'Who's Your Daddy' in my own birds.
Looking forward to my first hatch, albeit with some interpretation. Nothing can compare to working experience. And it would seem the experience is often expensive, knowledge does not come for free… but then nothing ventured, nothing gained. I might be able to have some chicks by the last of February, or the first part of March. I suppose I am guilty of enjoying the excitement of planning and scheming the advent of new chicks.
Best to all and your birds,

I also removed the 'ol ball and chain today. Good times ahead for Sam.
