Eek! That is just the opposite. Well, hoping you got the boys out of the way so now its a turn for girls lol Crossing fingers. Hard to tell still, they are little but they fluffed out like little puffballs, they are the roundest things I have seen, so the tails and wings are hard to see. One does have a wider more distinct comb though, bigger legs, and the tail is harder to see.

Red, you are gonna love these babies. They are getting so round and cute smile.png I can't wait for you to see them!

Ok, I went to the school, and it turns out there's only TWO out. They're both ameraucanas, but I can tell they're mixed. I know one has pink toes, and it looks like one has a single comb.

The remaining four are all pipped.  I am worried about the two BCM since they've both been pipped for an awful long time now.  I could see all four beaks moving, and they all *seem* to be ok.

#5 is out!  She's a black copper marans, and had been pipped almost 24 hours.

The BCM/lav am mutt looks like it'll be really pretty. Instead of being jet black where a bcm is, it's a dark silvery gray color. Can't tell if the legs will be feathered yet or not.

At this point, I only have one left to hatch. It's pipped, but nowhere near ready to come out. I'm hoping she makes an appearance by 3:15 today.

I do find it interesting that I kept humidity fairly low for the hatch, maybe around 35-40% during incubation. When the first BCM came out, there was a lot of goop in the egg. I feel lucky she didn't drown. I can't tell yet on the second chick, she still had a bit of yolk sac attached to her (mostly detached, and looks like scrambled egg, so I'm not worried) and I don't want to take her out of the incubator yet.

The lav am eggs were dry inside. So, I do think it's true that BCM need lower humidity to hatch well.

You have two blue little EE's...they are soo pretty.  It will be cool to see how they change in color..that's if they aren't pure Am.  You are having a great hatch...!  And at school!  Wow.  celebrate.gif

Cynthia, I'm sorry to hear about your chick hugs.gif I'm glad your DH was there to help you. Sending good thoughts your way!

Sphinx! ya.gif I'm so excited for you! Those babies are CUTE! I'm already in love with that pink-footed Am.

Lisa - I am anxiously counting down the days and hours until I get to meet you and see the chickies. I've liked the sound of blue and black Wyandottes ever since I ran across them, so I'm very excited to see how these babies grow and turn out. I don't have Cynthia's keen eye, but from the pictures you put up when they hatched, I really felt like #'s 1, 2, and 4 looked like girls. I couldn't tell on 3. And 5..........still love that chubby butt, no matter the gender. It looked kind of like a boy to me, but again, hard to tell. Babies, babies, babies, babies celebrate.gif jumpy.gif

corvidae - I must admit, Fort Chicken is a thoroughly impressive sight! And also hugs.gif

Oh oh! I forgot to add - When I was refilling the water bottle in the brooder today, I noticed that someone's voice is changing. I think it's my mom's BSL. Cynthia, you're right! She does sound like a duck.

Quote: Today I made 26 dollars selling the birds I put on on KSL last night! lol call after call after call. I just have my Australorp and my 2 ducklings left :) Sindie is always the first hen up and the first hen to go to bed. She still clucks like a broody but doesn't show any interest in setting. She lays an egg everyday and yesterday, my other mixed buff hen and Sindie both sang the egg song for 30 minutes  th.gifhe.gif It was the most annoying 30 minutes of my life. They were more annoying than my 2 guineas I used to have. lol
