Good luck!  She's so huge, poor gal won't know what to do with herself once she freshens.  :)  I can't wait to see kid pictures!

We've got 17 out of 19 of the BLRW eggs hatched so far--another one with a good size pip, and the last just sitting there looking sad. Looks like an eggshell explosion in the hatching tray! So far, only one splash again--what the heck are the odds of that?! Just going into day 21 right now. Not too bad a hatch, I have to say! Now I just have to figure out where to put all the little buggers!

It is so sad to see my incubator empty of eggs! I don't know what I will do with myself!

auntie hattie, I kind of wonder if that egg should be put in the incubator. It looks like one of the hens pecked it or something, possibly while rough housing and trying to steal it, like you said. I'd be worried about leaving it under them for fear of further damage.

corvidae, so happy to hear that your eggs are doing fabulous!

Donna---bet that feels good to be done for a bit. I will be glad when I am done smile.png Your eggs are a force to be reckoned with, wish they would all hatch that way! Looking forward to seeing you and your babies in a few hours.

Aunt Hattie, if it were me, I'd put candle wax on that cracked egg and put it in the incubator. I think it'd be less prone to infection or further abuse.

Those tiny blue babies are so cute. Blue cochins, eh? I have no idea.

BluJems, that poor goat!!! I'm gonna guess 4.

Donna, congrats on such a great hatch! Since I'm desperate for the darker chicks, watch: I'll get 6 splash and then one rooster of the blue.

Speaking of, I candled my school eggs today (day 15), and all are still wriggling around. I'm giggling because the teacher's namesake egg is the wildest of the bunch.

AND: The teachers are enabling me!!! I had another teacher at the school pull me aside and ask if we could hatch chicks in her classroom as soon as the incubator was free! D.gif  Now, I just need to decide what to hatch. I'm thinking maybe doing just barnyard mixes, but in blue/green eggs. Maybe a couple more BCM in the mix. I dunno.
