Ok, I am laughing my &**( here at "Roostering".  That is hilariously awesome.

Love the goat picture, blujems. I hope he makes a full recovery.  Also liked seeing your friend's bantams. I may need to get some bantams. Awfully cute.

I had a total of 7/7 eggs make it into lockdown- saw movement in all 7 as of Monday.  The second chick (Bryan) hatched just as school was getting out. I missed the hatch, as I was driving carpool, but the teacher reported that it was very, very, very exciting. From what I can see, all the eggs except for Erin are pipped now. Erin was the most active throughout the incubation. And, it may be pipped, and we're just at a bad angle to see it.

Donna, I'm doing P90X, but I worry that it's too weights intensive- I tend to bulk up really easily, and I need to lean down. I've been told that Insanity is better for that. I've got the Dirty Dash in June and the Tough Mudder this fall, so I really need to step up my running.  As for you hobbling around after your workout- it'll be good- rigor mortis won't set in until you go to bed.

Here's hoping they all hatch in there--if they have already started, almost certain sure they will be completely finished out by tomorrow evening. Probably sooner if they go anything like the ones in my incubator do. I'll be really interested to see if what colors you end up with.

I almost did P90X, but the equipment was kind of offputting for me. That's one of the big advantages to Insanity. And yes, Insanity is far more geared towards building endurance and core strength rather than building your muscles up, though it still has a fairly intense amount of general strength moves in it. As my currently jelly-like muscles will attest. Oy. I've talked to a few people who have done both, and they seem to universally feel Insanity was harder, but they liked it better simply for the intensity of it, the lack of needed equipment, and the shorted sessions.

Personally, I'm a fan of sitting on the couch. It has the advantage of NOT making you feel like you've been shoved through a blender. But I'm doing it anyway, so I suppose "Insanity" is a very accurate name for it!

I prefer weight lifting. I'm much better at picking up heavy stuff than running. I started P90X needing to buy nothing, but within the first week, realized I needed 15 lb dumbbells. So, I bought those, but I am seeing myself bulking up. I like that I'm stronger, but don't like the bigger muscles.

As far as general exercise goes though, I love hiking, bicycling, walking, or kickboxing.

I'm really hoping that I get my first 7/7 hatch. That would be so great!  Bryan hatched out really quite quickly- he/she went from tiny pip to completely out within 8 hours, which is pretty quick in my world. So far, Bryan and Dolphin were both dark dark dark.  I think my one blrw pullet is a splash, so my goal from this hatch is to get at least one good looking true blue hen.

Hey Birdguy, can I ask you something? (Okay, just did, but I'll ask something else) Where did your get your Icees from? Are they from a hatchery strain? I got to thinking about it, and it made me wonder. Now I'm having to sit on my hands and resist the urge to get three, not two. Don't you DARE help here, Brad lol.png  This is what happens when I'm sick and stressed! Ugh. he.gif  Please, someone tell my why I shouldn't do this! Besides being strapped for cash.... sigh.

My incubator has been acting crazy tonight.  It ran just a hair cool all day, so I'd touch it just a hair then it would be alright for a few hours.  This evening it was almost down to 97 so I moved the dial a microhair and then it kept going up, up, up and hit 105* in about a minute! I kept turning it down a hair, another hair, another hair before it finally turned off.  Fought with the stupid thing for a couple hours, and finally unplugged it.  Let it sit for 3 minutes and plugged it back in.  It seems to be somewhat regulated now and is keeping "steady" between 99-101 so I'm not touching it unless it drastically drops or raises again.  Ugh! Stupid cheap-o incubator!  he.gif  At least the humidity is holding at 72%. (Thank you, Lord, for small blessings!)

But the EXCITING news is: I heard a peep!  yippiechickie.gif

You heard a peep?  Any babies this morning?

If your humidity is up that high, and you have a still air..that could be the reason for spikes and drops...When I use my dry bator for lock down and hatching, I only keep the humidity around 60 to  65 because it holds humidity sooo well.  No forced air pushing it out.   Those eggs are toasty at 75%.  And, I keep my temps down too..so don't worry about 97 degrees.  It is probably better at lower temps during lock down, with the humidity up.   Let us know if you have a baby chick in there this morning!

Sasha, that would be so aggravating!!! Interesting that unplugging it seemed to have reset it.   Anything interesting this morning?

My dh gave me a kiss goodbye at 6:20, and it woke me enough to want to check my webcam. I got on in time to see Andy hatch 3 minutes later. wee.gifHopefully he/she will encourage these other eggs to hatch. I want the rest to hatch (period) while the kids are in school today.
