Is that baby still doing ok?  I felt bad for you when I read that.  You are so gentle with them. Those babies can be slippery, or fast little stinks!

I am soo crossing my fingers that the Icelandic is a girl..she looks like she is going to be a pretty one.

Where is the fire?  Must be up your way?  I'm thinking if this wind keeps up, and we keep having the hot days, there are going to be more of these fires this year.  We usually have some in Ut. county. Most  of the time they are put out pretty quick.  Interesting thing, if there is one on West Mountain, they let it burn.  Nothing up there, unless of course it is near the foothills, where there are now homes, and some small orchards.  But further up, just spiders. I remember climbing that mountain back years ago, big, big, black spiders all over the place.  Not many deer.  Nothing to eat. Jack Rabbits though. Anyway~

Glad you are back!  How did you do in the show?  Ooo, sorry about the lost chick..I bet he just felt awful about that.

Did you get pictures of the show?

Fire was in Centerville north of Bountiful I didn't take pictures it was a busy show and I was teaching some new breeders about showing.  Kinda like a momma hen with her chicks following on her heels.  Funny I came up with a chicken metaphore for a cat show huh

DH fixed up the coop and chicken house yesterday while I was at work so the teenagers could be moved permanently outside and the newer chicks could be put in the garage, now that it's finally looking like it will be warmer....  I was impressed!   As much as he complains about the chickens, I think he actually likes them a little=)  (don't tell anyone)

DH, 3 boys under 8;  Birds:  French Blue/Black CM's, OE's, bantam cochin calico project, assorted laying hens.  Next spring (2014): Crested Cream Legbar and Wheaten Maran hatching eggs...   Wish List: enough space for 10 more breeds

Oh my goodness Sasha, I'm glad you let us know that much.  I would love to offer prayers for the family.  Lisa, if you come on by chance, know that we are thinking and praying for you!  Love you sweetheart.

Ok, have to ask, I'm thinking it was you that is getting those little marans and white EE mixes?  I know, I'm terrible.  But I was thinking someone else here wanted Silkies, or showgirls.

I have a lot of Silkies hatching right now.  :)

I have a candling question.  I candled my eggs last night.  There were a few that did not look like the others.  I could see the blood vessels but not the chick development.  Does that mean they stopped progressing?
