You can see the EE's cool puffy cheeks... should be a cool looking bird, and the FBCM's have great feathered feet!!

 

One big happy family... with the Wheaten Amer's from Lisa and Delaware's from birdguy... how awesome is it that most of my chickens are from fellow BYCer's??  (4 of the teenagers are from chickenstock and the 3 pullets are from Azriel=)

               Wow, they have feathered out a lot more than when I sent them out.  I'm thinking that white one in the first picture up front, looks like a pullet all right.  :)

How can you tell?  No pips I'm up delivering kittens

Baby Kittens instead of chicks.  I have three showgirls out.  Two are showgirls, one is a Silkie.  The showgirls are the ones with the whole bare neck.  No bow tie or muff.  Will be interesting to see them all fluffed out.  Two whites, and I think a buff. Like I said, fluffed out I will be able to tell things better, the look, and the color. Will post pictures of them and my other Silkies tomorrow.  The Silkies are beautiful. 

Oh how can I tell?  Well, it's mostly a guess, but when you see the wing and tail feathers, that's a good sign.  Especially the shape of the wing tips. Like Lisa said, you get a pretty good idea of what to look for after having hatched a while.   I am wrong at times though, no doubt.  :))

Deloorashans, gorgeous babies.  You can't have a chicken problem because if you do, I'm worse. I have 25 altogether.  Your dh is right- we have a fantastic underground system set up here.

Yesterday DH built me a nice big built in feeder that ought to hold at least one 50 lb bag of feed. It's inside the new coop, and I think it'll be great- empty the whole bag into it, and not have to worry about feeding until the bag runs out. I probably should've had him put a plexiglass line in it so I can check levels at a glance, but it's fantastic.

Shinx, what a great idea on that built in feeder!   Now I'm going, hmmm, wonder where that could go in my coop.  I know!  Take out the one hanging, and have him build one right in that area.  Perfect!  Now, to let him know what he's going to be doing for me, and on Father's Day!

HURRAY!!!! I have a chick.  I didn't see any pip this morning so was discouraged but a heard cheeping so went into check,  Baby was completely hatched and yelling its head off.  I am so happy.  also 3 kittens  pics later

OMG I am having so much fun.  The hatched chick is cheeping all over the place and I have another one pipped that is responding and that egg is rocking back and forth.  too cute.  Kitten are all nursing and beautiful
