Well we got a 2nd egg. Looks just like the first. Still no idea who is doing it. Question - do the eggs get any bigger? Right now i would say they are sm - medium in size.

Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

I will start by saying that I love Australorps. In fact, my very favorite hen is an Australorp. She is such a sweet chicken and just let's you walk right up to her to pick her up. She doesn't run...

Wow, that story is great, Janet! I'm glad you could get on the news. Has it helped at all? I still wish I could take a pair of geese for you. They're all so pretty, but I really love the ones with the black stripe down their back. Are those African geese? And the grays are lovely. I hope they all find good homes
Thanks all for the support! I'm super excited about the interview. I've been trying to find a new job for a while now, so even if I don't get the job, I'm feeling hopeful.
Cynthia, have fun today! You and Kimmy will have a good time, I'm sure

kidasoto, yep! They will probably get bigger over the next little while. I forgot to say so earlier, but my guess is that it's that first RSL out of the pictures your put up. Guess we'll see?

I sure hope your lav is ok Sphinx. It is so awful seeing injured chickens, and having to make decisions about what to do, that is one thing I could do without. That and rehoming roosters we fall in love with.
Sasha--thanks for the pics. I am definitely going to hang on to this one and still hope its a girl now. I do worry about that one of yours. Your cuckoo is pretty light, I bet that one is a girl. I am guessing you have 1 girl 1 boy and 1 that could go either way? Hopefully the right way. Just a guess. Are yours teensy weensie too? I cannot believe how tiny this "Cosmo" is. She is more like a sparrow or robin, not a chicken. Her poof is coming in pretty round and nice, Elvis' is still all over the place, it is just too funny. It goes everywhich direction, it kind of matches her goofy demeanor and makes her seem even more ridiculous. She is turning red just a little bit around her mouth, I noticed last night. Not a lot yet, but you can see a change starting. Frisco has had red wattles for a while, but no much interest in the nests yet. I am excited to see what kind of eggs they lay. Or how they act when they lay. Because they are so wound up and ditzy already, I wonder what level of anxiety/excitement we will see when they start worrying about laying haha
I hope mine stay nice, I really really like them. You're welcome. :) I have for sure 1 boy and 1 girl (Zorro AKA the Villain, and Storm) and then I *think* I have 1 girl and 1 boy out of the younger two. Too many boys! My Elvis is such a spaz! I really hope she settles down once she starts laying. Hedwig has. I nabbed Elvis this morning and looked at her face. Barely getting pink around her mouth. We have a ways to go, I think.
Woohoo!!! Good luck! If they know what's good for them, they'll hire you on the spot. :)

I'm off to meet Kimmie with the Exchequer.
I did something I never thought I would do any time soon, but they are close, and it was cheaper than buying eggs..yep..ordered me some cute little Polish..now I will leave you to guess what color I ordered. A different color I have seen around on here, ever..but it wouldn't seem like a different color. Make sense? Ship date..Aug. 15th. I'm excited. I am keeping my black baby I hatched, and one is going to a friend. But, I want another one, especially this color!
See ya! Maybe I should take my camera and get a picture or two of us. If she doesn't mind. :)
Have a safe trip! Yay! baby Polish! I'm going to guess....partridge? Seems like it would fit different color, but not. LOL

Anyone want to adopt a pair or sponsor a medical needs bird??
What a great job they did on that story. :) You and your hubby are such great people! I can't adopt :( but maybe I could make a donation. Send me a PM with the details. :)

Thanks, Sasha!! There are two ways to donate. You can either send money to my paypal, which is listed on my signature line. Or, you can contact Parrish Creek Vet Clinic in Centerville and make a payment on my "goose rescue" account.

That's a great story! The big problem with it though is it doesn't ever say that you're looking for donations or that you want to adopt some of them out.
Kidasoto, yes, they definitely will get bigger.

Woohoo!! Got a second interview tomorrow with the department manager! I guess they've got a new manager in Clothing, which is where I'd be working, so she wants him to interview people he'll be working with. Phew, and now I'd better get to the little job I'm lucky to even have, eep!
