WTB Blue Australorp Eggs

Thread Starter

i am in the process of breeding for blue australorps using blue or splash orpingtons into black austras.  i purchased orp eggs in jan. the hatch produced "0" blue females, and only 1 female splash orp.
so my breeding pen is quite limited.

anyone out there with any blue eggs?

i have some good black astra eggs to trade if that is an option.

please PM OR e-mail me

There is a member who has blue australorps, but I can't remember their name.  Have you tried doing a search?

If you want house chickens and ducks in diapers then this is the forum for you.
I've got 50+ years of poultry experience, but this 'poultry' forum isn't for me anymore.
If you're going to complain about farmers, don't do it with a full belly or a mouthful.

I have some beautiful blue austrolorps but they are only 3 months old. If you haven't gotten what you want by Christmas or first of year let me know. My problem is that only one is hen and three roosters. I have a black hen that should be carrying the gene but not sure I'll breed her.

Hubby, 2 beautiful granddaughers, Lady Oreo my schnauzer, Ginger our cockerspaniel, Mollie our other dog, 6 beehives: and then we have chickens,  BCMs, BLRWs, buff orps, silkies, white orps, brown leghorns, buckeyes, and a few mutts.

yep, it always seems to work out that the males will be the dominant number in a hatch, guess its a natural selection to make sure there is plenty of them for insemination.

that was my problem with my blue orpington hatch:(

thank you for your reply, i may call on you, sure appreciate you!
good luck with your blues!
