This was a doghouse originally built to fit in the back of a pickup. The cabinet doors were had for $1 each at the local habitat for humanity store (complete with hardware) and the paint was from the oops bin at the hardware store. We built the roof and it is removable for coop cleaning. The tiles were left over from our roof. The wire was the most expensive thing. I think we have about $70 in it, including feeders and water containers.
It holds 6 chickens.

DUMMY ME...so now, we have placed from resale shops or trashed book shelves side ways as nest and they lay in them...for the roost I hung branches over the top of the inside of the coop even with the ventilation area that runs across the front of the coop
