No roosters that crow yet. Just my ee cockerel but he can't crow yet. I'm getting rid of him when he crows.

Could would you compare them to bobwhite quail?

I get 1 loud short conversation from each rouen hen a day...My pekins just don't know nwhen the conversation is over....make me crazy some days.

I have a trio of rouens Ive had over a year now. For the most part they are not loud. The hens do call me when I come out in the mornings to let me know they are hungry but thats it. Rest of the day they are pretty quiet. Not obnoxious at all. Plus mine great layers. Neither of my hens ever went broody tho, Although my crested rouen seems to have wanted to a few times.

If you want a quiet duck your best bet is going to be Muscovy.

I'd never give up my Pekins though. They are talkative but I loves them.

The wish list is much longer.

I suspect it depends upon where you get your ducks from.

My Pekins were quiet most of the time.  They would follow me around and chatter, but that was a low hum, not loud.  Then occasionally, the ducks would blast out a few really loud quacks, but not all that often.

If you must have quiet ducks, then Muscovy are your only option.  All the breeds of duck have a really loud call.
