I was advertised on-line as being all the qualities found in a fifth-floor piece of merchandise, but in reality I am a cheap third-world knock-off made with lead paint by children working 16 hour days. I look really good from a distance but close inspection reveals my many flaws. I worked fine for a short period, but now the shame of that purchase has sunk in and i just get left at home so that she is spared the humiliation of everyone bearing wittness to her prowess as a consumer.

Oh... BTW, my wife proposed to me, so she really was the one that made the final purchase.

You both are very lucky to have the intelligent, beautiful, generous, forgiving, and kindhearted SO's that you have in your life.
