I have 2 bronze back turkey poults and they are about the size of a bantam chicken.
When i got them they peeped so much till i moved the brooder to my shed.
They have been feathered out at least a month and are now in a large pen and receive all the food and water they can hold.
But still Peep Constantly

I would of thought as big as they are now they would not still be peeping!

I raised 4 back during the spring and they stopped peeping soon as they feathered out.

Whats up with these i'm about to rehome them because just feeding my chickens has become nerve raking and i'm really

with the contast peeping!

Turkeys are THE most vocal birds we have ever owned. In the wild they have many different vocals to locate and keep up with each other. Our turkeys constantly talk to us and each other. It has never bothered me really, I always enjoy listening to ours.

ours are 5 weeks old now and fully feathered ... they still peep but not as loud .... kind of get used to it ... ;p;

I have a bronze back tom and he is with 2 royal palm hens and i love all of their noises.
He goobles and they perk and chirp all day and i just love the sounds.
My husabnd likes to get the tom to Drum and display.
These stopped peeping when they feathered out and theirs was only when they wanted something.
I just love my turkeys thats why i bought the 2 poults

These poults are a totally different thing they peep peep peep peep constantly
You would have to be here and experience it to know what it's like.

I have raised chicks ,pheasants, ducks, quail and even noisey guineas but these are just too much.

Mine peep most of the time aslo.. But mine are so fixated on humans. They shutup once we go and see and sit with them.

2 have started to gobble and I think its wonderful actually. Beats them peeping all day.
Only time they everstop is when ist dark outside or they are recharging

I agree with the previous posters...they will keep peeping until they start gobbling.

Ours are so funny...they gobble when: they hear the train, the dogs barking, my kids squealing and yelling, the rooster crowing, my husband gobbles at them, the cat walks by, car horns, ambulance sirens...the list goes on and on and on...

I love turkeys.

Your post made me LOL. I love it when my turkeys talk to me. They are nearly silent with other family members and stranger, except for adult toms that gobble at anything. Enjoy it!!!!

Thanks everyone i have been out looking for a solution and i have moved them farther from my chickens.
This way they are not right there where my ears are LOL

Yes i do love my older ones and their sounds, i love it when my hens purr when i give them grass or dry leaves.
My Tom will gobble every time i laugh so he gobbles and it makes me laugh and he gobbles some more.
I can also whistle and he gobbles and the hens will "perk" and he doe's the spit and drum.
They are just so interesting to have

Thanks again i see the ear plugs will be hanging around a little longer.
