Hey, OkieChick, we have the same family tradition of a "snoopy" looking tree!!! I like a "natural-looking" tree, not the super perfect, bushy "shaped" ones that are popular here in Maine. I guess its a throwback to when I was little and we cut our own wild trees. Now, we go to a "cut-your-own" tree farm, but this year they were all pruned and shaped!!! My poor daughter and husband kept trying valiantly to find one I'd like, but I couldn't bear the clipped branch tips. Spent a whole day driving around to other tree farms before I found a farmer who lets his trees grow in a relatively wild manner. Phew! We haven't decorated it yet, though.... I'll post pics when we do.

Yours looks great!!

PS good luck with your crop impaction. I assume you read my thread and what worked for Penelope?

Seachick, in my younger days I loved snoopy/charlie brown trees too. Also, in my younger days I swore I'd never be like my mom and have a "themed" tree. Guess what?

I made the mistake of getting the SO to buy a multi-colored pre-lit tree last year. It looked beautiful last year, but this year I want all blue lights and the SO says if YOU want it, YOU figure out how to take the multi-colored ones off of it. Not only that but a portion of one of the pre-lit strands isn't working and that's enough to drive me and my obsessive compulsive self over the edge!

The big thing for me this year is that I finally have all my Christmas decorations that had been stored at my Dad's house for a long time. So...the tree will be all silver, blue, and white with a nativity theme. Even if that means leaving the current tree out in the storage building and buying a real one

The reason I even have all the decorations I have is simple: the ex and I seperated in November quite a few years back, I was all alone that Christmas, I still had his credit card, and the stores had unusually gorgeous ornaments that year!

If I find a pic of that year's tree, I'll post it here.

You have a very nice tree. Are live trees exspensive in Okla.? Here is Mich we have all kinds of pine trees and are the 3rd largest producers of them(at least I think we are-used to be 1). I think the picture of your son is the best-I like it very much. By 3rd largest I meant growing and selling christmas trees.

OK the grandson is not looking like he is having fun. :| Looks more like he is humoring G'ma and keeping his slate clean for Santa!

I really like old fashioned trees that smell and have multicolored lights.

thanks.....I do have to admit, this is my very FIRST artificial tree............was given to me..... last year I had the most beautiful snoopy type tree and had it decorated to the hilt with all my old old ornaments. I mean old. I am 50 now

and I had painted these when I was in highschool and had given each of my siblings some....my oldest brother had kept his all these years and sent them back for me to enjoy.....it was awesome
love.gif
..........the tree fell over at least 3 times (not mentioning any names

sad.png
I also worry about fire in this style house so..... as shabby as it looks......it is great compared to last year !
