Pink eggs?

Quote:
I think that was either a Welsummer or Maran that laid a very light egg that day. It is possible that the pink egg came from an EE but all I've seen them lay for sure are the blue, green and olive eggs. This weekend I'll keep an eye out and try to see who is laying the pink eggs. The last two days I've had pink eggs with white speckles and they were in the same nest box so hopefully I'll catch the layer!

After you start getting some eggs post the photos in the Online Poultry Show topic under the 'photos of your eggs" thread.

I love taking photos of my eggs!!

I have 3 EE girls. And I get these colors.

They are very pastel, but compared to my RIRs eggs, the one EE egg looks pinkish in the sun.

The other 2 are very similar, but in the sun you can see one is more blue, and the other slightly more green.

This is Sylvia, she's the one that lays the pinkish egg.

Sooo Pretty!! That's what I want too. Most of my pullets are brown egg layers, but I have a few EE's too. What hen layed the dark brown egg on the top left? I want some Wellsummers, BC and splash Marans next.

I believe that was a Welsummer. My Wellies normally lay darker than my Marans. I do get some similarly dark ones from my Marans. I guess the color is not bad for hatchery stock.

I've been getting the pink with white speckles too. This weekend I'm going to keep notes on who is in what nest. I thought it was one of 10 EE'rs but I want to know which one.

My EE'rs came from McMurray and I have not been disappointed with the color range I'm getting. I do wish the blues were a bit deeper but I have been totally (happily) surprised by the green and olive layers. AND they lay some of the biggest eggs so far.

I have 5 EE's. I got 3 from Meyers Hatchery in Ohio and 2 from the feed store that came from Mt Healthy Hatchery. I was so excited when i seen the eggs that the girls laid that i ordered 4 more EE's, 2 Welsummers and 2 Marans from Meyers !! The younger girls are now 17 weeks old, so anytime now i will be getting more colorful eggs. Oh and my Buff Orphington lays a pinkish egg.

Another view of them. The light brown egg is from my SLW, not an EE.
