I can't seem to peel my hard boiled eggs - page 8 Solution!

Even store bought eggs gave me headaches when it came time to peel them! I googled it and saw advice on how to steam them and I have done 2 batches (16 eggs total of newly laid eggs) and each and everyone of them came out perfectly! The shells practically fell off of them! Just google "Steam Hard boiled eggs" for directions. 20 minutes is what I use.

If you have an Instant Pot, you can search YouTube for cooking hard boiled eggs. Works great for us. I think its the ice bath that helps them peel easily. And I crack them all over and roll between my hands.

Older eggs peel easier and I do salt in water when I boil and take them straight from burner to cold water bath. Sometimes ya still get a stubborn one but much easier to peel this way.

I just had the best "peeling of shells" ever! I combined everyone's ideas: several spoonfuls of salt (small pot for two eggs' experiment) plus a splash of white vinegar. Boiled the two eggs for about 6-7 minutes, ran the pot under cold tap water, cracked the shells, threw in some ice for a minute or two-- PEELED PERFECTLY! Woohooo! No more wasted, ugly, weird deviled eggs here!
The only odd thing: the brown top layer rubbed off! Was this the bloom? These eggs were washed after gathering them yesterday. I always thought the bloom was washed off very easily.

The brown on eggs are actually white eggs a coating of brown color is deposited as it travel thru bird and out...This egg lost some of that layer due to the vinegar in the boiling water. Lil fun fact all eggs are either blue or white. you can tell true egg color when you crack the shell and look at edges or inside.

My brother got me an egg steamer, it holds a dozen eggs, you poke a hole in the fat end of the egg and put it i the holder bottom up, it takes 20 minutes to steam, promptly put eggs right in an ice water bath and remove when cool. They peel perfectly.
I've tried everything else and have 99% easy peel rate with my steamer.
Note* Eggs need to be room temperature before steaming or they will stick to shell.
