70. The way they squeak when they eat their feed too fast.

7 quacking ducks, 5 spazzy quail, 3 lazy cats, 2 grown sons, 1 goofy husband... and no partridge, but I have a pear tree!

73. Those cute Scovy crests/mohawks raised when they get scared or nervous.
74. Ducklings sunning on a old door mat after a brisk swim on a cool day.

87.  When every other person & animal is annoyed by the rain they're delighted to have mud & puddles to play in.
88.  They soothe your soul and lift your spirits.

You know, I think #87 is my new #1 favorite reason to keep ducks. You're so right--there is nothing in the world like a delighted duck to lift a person's spirits on a dismal, drizzly day. I mean, how can you be depressed about the weather when your duckies are making such a happy racket?

92.  I mentioned this in another thread, but ..., 'pillow fights' feather remnants in one of the ducks many molting seasons.

And, I would comment on ALL the brilliant 'REASONS', but there are toooo many!  THANKS ALL!  I confess a certain intrigue to the the 'Scovy' posts though (especially the 'footsteps on the roof' variety)

93.  The way they zoom under the water, between the other ducks feet.

94.  The way they snuggle when you pick them up and pet their neck and stroke their bill.

95.  When they hear a noise and freeze, and make time stand still.

96.  When they chew on the ends of my hair when I don't have any treats.

97.  The way they make children laugh... and adults too.
