I''ve got 4 Australorps that are around 22 weeks old. When would I expect them to begin laying eggs? Thanks.
The picture was taken at about 20 weeks old.
When do Black Australorps begin laying?

My Aussie girls started laying when they were 25 or 26 weeks old. Their comb and wattles were larger and more red. I might have a picture of them at that age.
This picture is really faded but you can see her comb and wattles. I think she had been laying for a couple of weeks. I started feeding Purina Layena when they were 20 weeks old and of course they get oyster shell, scratch and table scraps. Anyway...yours will be laying before you know it. This girls first egg was dark brown then the next one was cream/white and now she lays a med brown egg. It was really wild to see the color change.
Mine are suppose to be 25 weeks old yesterday, but I don't think they are that old. They are just now starting to get bigger comb's and wattles.
I put them on the 20% Gamebird feed and it has made a big difference in the rate of their development.
Mine look a lot like yours except they have a little bigger comb and wattle, so I am assuming that mine are about 22 weeks of age.
