Oh yes... I forgot to mention to Bigz how his breeding tidbit was very interesting! You are quite the knowledge fairy of all things chicken. If I make it to the chicken stock I will assuredly bow down to your Chicken greatness!!! bow.gif    (I will surely learn all I need to know just by it chatting with you all ep.gif)

I'm looking for a local meeting for PHA (Pervy Humor Anonymous) and PFAA (Poultry and Fowl Addicts Anonymous). PM me with any meeting info...

So cold and snowy!

Wow To and FT Sorry about your losses sad.png Sissy is not doing well either. hu.gif sad.png her breathing is starting to get labored. I don't know what's wrong. No sign of a cold or bugs. Doesn't seem to be egg bound. Croop was empty 'till I started force feeding her. What I feed her last night still seems to be there. Must be something else internal. Maybe she got hurt? I don't know.

I have a new octagon advance 20 that I'm gonna use for the first time this spring. Maybe we can set a April fools day set together. That way the hatch will be close to may and warmer brooding temps in my garage. Just a thought.

No, sorry, Bigz, I didn't. I just got the small 7 capacity one. Mini Advance, I think? I was looking all over for pricing & finally ordered one, only to find it backordered. So I checked Brinsea's website, and it turns out you can order directly from them, get it faster (ships on the 20th as opposed to everyone elses 28th), and they had a sale, so I got it for $40 less.  yesss.gif  So naturally I called & cancelled my first order.

An April Fool's Day set sounds great to me! Twist my arm, I'm in.  big_smile.png  Now I just need to trade TO my Moose for one of her Tobies and maybe she'll join us in setting some eggs together. Hint, hint, TO!  wink.png

I just HAD to comment on this one!  You are right CC...Brent is going to get "the big head" and Jim will be merciless!  Your only saving grace BigZ will be if Jim thinks there is too much to read and he misses that comment! (dont count on it though!) Speaking of...he is going to be reading for DAYS to catch up!  I am so for an April FOOL's Day hatch!  Oh OH...I hope I have my incubator back by then...I am lending it to the Sunday school for quail eggs...Let's see; Feb 20+18=38 Feb has 29 so 9 days in to March...set eggs for hatch gives me...Hey, if I set them the day I get the bator back I think it makes April 1st for a hatch date!!! Now THAT is weird!  I have to have a calendar to figure it for sure.  LOL--I just reread the message...looks like you want to SET on 4-1...that I will be able to do easily.  I think we should go for the 4-1 HATCH date; Then we could name the chicks foolish names! Names of comedians? THis is gonna be FUN!

Alright, coveralls ON NOW!  Later all!  TErri O

I don't think I'll have my breeding ready by then. I planned on breeding the hens mid march and have fertile eggs to set by april fools...depends on the spring weather maybe...or not. I think my plan is etched in stone...maybe or not.

Bf4...thanks...you are the smartest bestest cheesehead I know....pay attention TO and learn like the smartest bestest ones, eh!  love.gif

Hey! If I can get my hands on fertile eggs count me in on the Cheese Head April Fools Hatch.  If I get my act together, maybe I can get some more Icelandic eggs for it!

So if I understand TO she wants a Hatch Date of April First (Set Date of March 11) and BigZ wants a Set Date of April 1 right?  Why couldn't we do both?  That would be fun!

For the life of me I'm trying to remember which of my pets had the April 1st birthday! Oh!  I remember!  It's my mini rex Harrison!

What else....oh my Amazon order came finally.  I got a smaller nest box for Lucy the NZ.  She is very small fer a NZ so the large nest box was way too big for her.  I hope it works out for her.  SHe sure is  silly thing.....

Well have a great night!  I'm gearing up for shoveling snow tomorrow morning.  The dump was closed last weekend when it was supposed to be open so I'm really  hoping it's open tomorrow.  If it's not, then we have to wait another week!  Grrr...I sure hope it's open.....keep your fingers crossed for me..

The automatic/timer didn't work.  Just manual.... LOL  Pop door is done.  Pulleys from the outside open and close it.

The old receptipticles you see are disconnected - that's why the bottom 6" of sheet rock is cut away.

I moved all the electricity to the inside wall, up at 7' level so the birds can't mess with them.

Camera is screwing up - More pis to follow...... hopefully.

No sign of any chickie heads yet. But every time a chick peeps, momma answers her back. You can almost tell what she is saying sometimes, it is eerie. Some times it sounds like she is telling them to be quiet, other times it seems she is telling them to rest for a while. It is difficult to describe, but you can hear it in her tone. I think she is going to be a good mama. I hope.  fl.gif
