Morning All....warmer today but dang that wind has a damp bite to it.

Jim's puter guy is coming tomorrow...he said we will have to wait to give him some lip service.

Kinda crappy watching the playoffs...playoffs...without the green and gold. I think the niners are gonna GO ALL THE WAY...they have a good D to go with agood O...I think they have both sides of the ball covered. I'm gonna get to watch Eli pout today....dang it.

Nice pics everyone...

Sorry to hear about sissy....I'm thinkin maybe a roo stood on her to long. Sometimes they just stand on the hens and squash something internally. I've lost more that one that way.

Hope all the sick birds return to good health for everyone.

Afternoon.... (Just barely)  hmm.png

TO - That Phoenix Rooster is looker!  I'd like to have a good lookin' Rooster like that running around someday.

Cindy - Sorry bout your Chicken - Sounds like you did everything you could.  Sucks not knowing why though...

Had a flock of 38 Wild Turkeys running around the Chicken Run and then they spotted the bird feeders on the back deck...  What a MESS!   My dog got a hold of one of the med sized hen.  By the time I got there, the Turkey was pretty much done dancing.  Can't let that meat go to waste... (Breast, Thighs and legs) - Soaking in a salt water/brown sugar brine as we speak.

Guess what I'm having for supper?

I MIGHT (Keep your fingers crossed) be getting a deal on ALL the Mink Cages I want.  A friend's neighbor lives on an old Mink Farm and want's to get rid of a big pile of them.   I have not seen what condition they are in yet.    I'm thinking they might be perfect to start raising some Quail.

I'll definitely let you guys know if these things are worth anything...  If there is enough, I have no problems with "sharing." fl.gif

Dreary, kinda "icky" day out there today - little bit of wind but at least it's well above zero.

Laters ....cool.png

Jeepers Creepers! I go to Great Wolf Lodge for one night and I have 3 pages to read!caf.gif

In all of this posts there was not a response to my question: what is the best way to maintain the higher humidity during lock down? Does a wet sponge work best, or is there something else that works? I would love to hear from you super chicken folks. Where's the Chicken Knowledge Fairy when I need him?! idunno.gif

I'm looking for a local meeting for PHA (Pervy Humor Anonymous) and PFAA (Poultry and Fowl Addicts Anonymous). PM me with any meeting info...

BigFam - This is where I got most of my info re/ incubating eggs...  I hope the link works.

http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/incubation-cheat-sheet

If it doesn't let me know and I'll copy and paste/ email it to you.   It goes from start to finish using an LG-type incubator.   It goes into detail re/ the lock-down phase using paper towels.

GOOD LUCK!

3 pages THATs nothing! lol

I put a wet wash cloth UNDER my wire floor in my 'bator. I add water on to it with a fish tank hose (run through on of the holes in the 'bator) and a big suringe

I did find out that you can INDEED click on that little word bubble and green arrow and it will take you to the last post that you read.

TO to get a pic from your online BYC album, highlight the picture and right click on it click on copy, then click in your reply box and right click and paste.  my suggestion is to open a new tab to your BYC pic album.  hope this makes sense.

off to my moms house for supper and a movie and to cut quilt squares for a sofa quilt I'm making. thats what us church ladies are making, they decided to meet like once a month?! ep.gifI can't take that long to make something! it's going to drive me CRAZY! I hate dragging something on for ever and ever. besides even if I take my time, and only work on it on Sunday's, I'm still gonna have it done by the next class/get together. roll.png  oh well, she's gonna show some people who to knit too, so I'll just be able to sit in that class too. lol MOMMY time!
