quick question that I'll add here since no one else has posted yet. lol

guineys, I got 4 (from Jim) they're what 10 months?, I can't tell them apart.  any ways I got one that I thought was a female read some where that the female makes 2 different noises  ?? "she" is MEAN! to the chickens but "she" will run toward me, keep an eye on me, run across my path all the way to the house ??  Is this showing aggression? is it a male? the top knot thing looks like it might be a LITTLE bigger than the others, it's gowl things look redder? IDK, but it is the ONLY one that cares that Im even out there.  the only one that comes near me the others just go about what their doing (eating).  IDK

later

Ok, I got lost in all of the posts. Don't remember who it was that wanted advice from the Rooster Rescue source?

Sounds like a rooster to me with the little red bud wattles sprouting. Some of my paint silkies are sprouting some as well. With silkies the smaller the wattles the better so no wattles sprouting can fool ya into thinking you have a hen !!! LOL I swear I had a nice white hen and I heard a crow and turned around and it was her !!!

Plus they can grow those streamers on the top of their heads over night !!!

I see there are some lavender orp chicks for $5 in the UP. Dah don't know why I would be looking, I can make my own !!! Soon CC and Bf4m Soon.

Well, my chicken feed is done, guess I'll trudge through the snow to go get it. Hope DH left the truck home for me today !!! He is after all an OM and forgets things !!

Raim, can't wait to see your little niece, how old is she?

DrHaha, she might be spoiled but not Spoiled Rotten !!!! LOL My nephew turned out wonderful and I spoiled him too !!! Only I had more money then and he got new stuff. I buy tons of toys at GoodWill for Addie. I couldn't afford all of the Elmo's I buy her otherwise. Get out the Oxine and disinfect everything.

The rocking horse was new though !!!! Half price at Wally World after Christmas last year !!! Always on the lookout for Deals.

Nice ha Bigz !!! You Naughty boy you !!! LOL Wonder if they rebuild Bigger and Better then before !! LOL

I get a kick out of driving by Weasels !! It's right next to a Christian Book Store !! Geez !! Wonder who was there first !! lol

Ok off to the feed store. I got to playing solitaire on the computer lately. My sister was playing the other day and I caught the bug again !!

FT, maybe the fire was 4-6 weeks ago?? Don't quite remember. Bigz, tongue.gif

The ALBC (American Livestock Breeds Conservancy) just announced their 2012 list of endangered poultry breeds: http://albc-usa.org/documents/CPL_Poultry_2012_lowres.pdf  I am wanting to get some Hollands, they are critical. The only place I know that has them is Sandhill Preservation.  Very interested to see the Lamona being listed under Study; many people thought they were extinct, but I have heard murmurings of a couple breeders working on them discreetly. yesss.gif

Dont you find it odd that people will put more work into choosing their mechanic or house contractor than they will into choosing the person who grows their food?

Just remembered a funny Weasels story. I worked a couple years at Honey Rock Camp, and they have pasture acreage adjacent to Weasels. Years ago they had a herd of 14 burros, and on at least one occasion the camp got a phone call from the club asking to please come round up the donkeys 'cause they had broken thru the fence and were milling around the building! Guess they just wanted to see the show! tongue.png

Fair warning to lock down the toilets 'cause yesterday Cartman (my toddler) was throwing random items into my shower (book, glasses, screwdriver...) lol.png

Oh Amy .... I saw Cartman mentioned and thought you guys were talking about South Park! Is that his real name?

I have one of those kids... Just Sunday morning he comes into the living room dripping wet to the elbows... Sure enough... dad goes to check and the toilet seats wet... Then I hear " D@mn it it was filled with p!ss too...!" a pause for a minute then I hear "Sh!t it won't flush! What did he stick in there?!" and then the best "man, I wish I would have known that before I took a piss in there!!! Do you have any plastic gloves?!" nope... I didn't...

Since it was my day to teach Sunday school, he had to deal with it... And HE'S the one who told the boys it's a waste of water to flush every time..... AAAAHHHHH poetic justice. lol.png
I'm looking for a local meeting for PHA (Pervy Humor Anonymous) and PFAA (Poultry and Fowl Addicts Anonymous). PM me with any meeting info...

thanks folks I needed a good laugh today!

let's see,,,Weasel's burned on New Years eve and they were closed ,,,another "historic" place in the northwoods. Rebuild is doubtful the owner has been in a facility for a year or so, an early stroke results of combined long time issues. Diabetes primarily,

Amy, Honey Rock and I have a working relationship, great folks. I get my manure from them,,,a number of the staff buy eggs and veggies from me,,,, and yes I do remember the donkeys at the bar, not there but heard the "herd" story cool.png

These kids and toilet incidents bring back memories,,,,never needed gloves though,,,always kept them on hand,,,,heh heh

OK , quickly,, who was looking for Sebastopol goslings..  I know of a possible pair in Cambria.. that is where I bought mine from two years ago..  Original Holderud's stock ..  I don't think Holderud's are into geese any more..  I believe these goslings were hatched around Christmas..

let me know and I can hook you up with Karen..
