You're joking, right?!?!?!?!? You've got 80 freakin' acres, woman! How much more "space" do you need?????  gig.gifI'd be happy with half of that. Or a quarter even. Sheesh!

Cind, I hope you got some well deserved rest. And I hope Jasmine's foot heals up fast for you too.

Apyl, cute kiddos. I only have my chicks on paper towels for the first 2 or 3 days, but that is up to you. If they aren't falling over anymore & seem to have strengthened up their legs, they should be ready for the pine shavings.

No kidding, hey, DrH???? Well, there always is the mailman.  lau.gif  Too funny about Goldie, and perfect wording on her being in your toolbox: "oh, crap!"  gig.gif

Tiki, I think 3 drops is the dosage for adult LF.

MLH, all I can think of right now is Isabella, but that's a mouthful.  roll.png

Wow Jim, cool pics! 29 minutes, hey? Goofball.  lau.gif

Technically, the 80 acres belongs to the bank and I !! LOL someday it will be mine if I live long enough !! LOL

Anyway, by SPACE I meant, the buildings !!! I may have 80 acres but no buildings were on the property other then the house and a small single car garage and a tiny chicken coop.

And thanks to the chickens and all the money I spend on them my poor horses will never have a pole barn or will I ever have my dream, an indoor Arena to use in this two season climate we have (Winter and the other half of the year LOL)

If I knew I was going to be buying a house when I did I wouldn't have bought the 20 acres first (we were going to build and then bought the 60 acres with house after neighbor lady passed away) I would have looked for a place JUST LIKE Bf4m has. Lots and Lots of buildings !!!  Old farms up here go for a lot less then what I paid. Live and Learn.

We spent a fortune putting up the horse shelters (no skimping, I wanted them safe and heavy duty)

My chicken feed bill per month could build me a nice pole building !!! Geez, gets me to thinking. Anybody want to buy all my chickens ? LOL

Plus I'm on a ridge so building space is limited near the house. Complain complain hey ? LOL

Speaking of property, the neighbor just told DH yesterday that their daughter and SIL just bought their neighbors house with 92 acres on Land Contract.

I'm sure they got a good deal on it, her Mom is a realitor and well lets just say the couple they bought it from are elderly and not in good health.

They all ready have it rented out. Wish I could fall into deals like that, instead I just fall into holes !!!! LOL

Ok, gotta get some things done before Old man gets home from work. I've been really slacking this week. My Auntie E is in the hospital down in Racine, I think I have that on my mind. She fell down Weds night at around 9pm. She crawled to the living room and thought she could get up but fell asleep.

She has life line but didn't call until the morning. She refused an amublance so they called my sister.

My sister got her up, cleaned her up because she went #1+2 in her panties. Took her to the ER. They admitted her because she has a very bad bladder infection.

She gets them on a regular basis. For any of you with elder parents, in case you don't know it but if they start acting real goofy. Seeing things, halucinating etc chances are they have a bladder infection. I know it sounds weird but some how it affects the seniors that way.

Wednesday when my sister took her out for supper my Auntie E was telling her that there was a blonde woman in her house that she has been talking to. Then she said she was seeing her in the restaurant. I asked my sister then if she thought she might have another bladder infection because this has happened before !! Sure enough, she does.

TO..... Do your patients get this way too?

We are afraid this might just be the beginning of the end of her living alone. She Absoulutely REFUSES to go into assisted living, but now she may not have a choice. She is blind in one eye and is lossing the site in the other because she falls asleep before she takes her drops so she is only getting 1/2 of what she is suppose to have.

I offered to let her move in with me 6 yrs ago but she wouldn't do it. There is no way I could take on her care at this point. It is so sad. Plus two years ago she had a mini stroke and while she was in the hospital she had what they call hospital psychosis (sp). OMG she hated everyone. She was calling the nurses names, all of her family names. Told everyone that called her to call the police because she was being held hostage !!!

I can't remember what she called me anymore !!!

My sister warned the hospital staff yesterday what happened the last time she was admitted. She is sore from her fall and sleeping on the floor so they gave her some pain meds last night. That ought to keep her quiet. You have to know, she worked at J I CASE company with a bunch of men. She knows how to swear like a truck driver. She is a sweetheart but in a rough kind of way, if you know what I mean. You can't tell her you love her, she thinks you want something !!! LOL

Ok, stalled enough, gotta get going.

Later all

Frenchie  I hope that your Aunty starts feeling better  hugs.gif

Bf4me   About the vitamins!!!!           It is very easy to choke a chick with liguid vitamins so I would just take a milk gallon bottle cap and put some water in it and then add the Vites and let the chick drink on her own.  And thanks CC for doseage.  Bf4me>>>  If I were you I would do an advanced search with the word polyvisol  and search in the emergency threads and for the author put ruth      just   ruth     .  I think you will get all the information you need there.      There also are some links at top of emergency threads where they have treatments and doseages but not sure if they have polyvisol there.   OK good luck.

Holy smokies! It started raining here around 1:30. By 2, it turned to sleet. And before 2:30 it started snowing. I took these at 3:30.

My call duck hatched! Its a gray one. He zipped out faster than most chicks do. That's because his beak is a little long. But that's ok, the heartbreak of having a pipped duck die is becoming too much to handle! I'll post pictures when he's all dry and fluffy.

Hey FT, your auntie sounds exactly what I'll be like when I get older.  wink.png  I'm sorry to hear she is declining.  hugs.gif  The hallucinations usually start after they've had the UTI for a while, but with the elderly, it is very hard to know beforehand, unfortunately. As for her being a dickens after the stroke, they didn't have her on morphine, did they? That will cause that kind of behavior, along with seeing iguanas on the ceiling.  roll.png  Here it comes! I opened a whole new can o' worms!

She's having a bit of an off day, she would love to go home, is tired of being in the hospital but knows she is not up to full strengh yet.  They were transfering her to a room on the PT floor and sounds like she will be there at least 4 more days...  my dad was also having a off day to and I had the pleasure of dealing with it he.gif.  Long story short our day started off to a bad start this am and hasn't gotten much better.  Such is life.

On a different note, our pup is having problems adjusting to the other dog being gone.  Now when we ask her to crate up(at night or when we leave the house) she trys any thing to avoid it so that takes longer and I don't want it to turn into a struggle.  At night she whines off and on and now needs to go outside early morning- feel like we are back to puppy days and she will be 2 years old in Aug.  I am usually the one who hears it so I haven't had a good night sleep in who knows how long.  Trying to come up with something that she can have only when crated that she really wants!
