Rough week at work, got accused of stealing the chicks we hatched, so I made a quick call and got them back to the school.  Apparently though I made all the arrangements for the hatch and was asked to find homes for the peeps, I was a lying thief.  When I had found homes and placed the peeps the teacher disagreed and claimed they were school property.  I got called into the principal's office and was then accused of stealing, lying and benefiting from a school project.

By this morning I had the peeps back in the classroom and now have to try and fix my reputation in the school because of this teacher.  Really angry and frustrated that I helped so much.

On the good side of things, I am the proud owner of 3 blue maran peeps!  I picked them up on Tuesday and they are awesome!!!  I am so excited!!!  I was also able to sell all 3 of my Seramas at a profit of 1000%!!!  They ate 8 gals of feed during their time here, I made money on the sale even after expenses and will not have house chickens any more!!!

I am getting some younger mixed pullets ready for sale and a couple older hens will go to the swap next weekend.  Hopefully I will be able to have 12 hens in the coop laying by the time winter rolls around.

Thanks for letting me rant...

Sorry to hear this Ken!  Usually once the chicks hatch the teachers are glad to have them leave to good homes- at least that is what I am use to hearing.  Hopefully the teacher will cool down and thing will be okay again hugs.gif

I gave 36 eggs to a school too. They should be hatching this week and I get them back !!! How dare they call you a liar !!! And a preacher liar too !!! smack.gifto them !!

Haaa, I am too! Well, one for sure, but she can't be alone so I have a good lead on a buddy. cool.png  I am terribly sorry to have to tell you this, but there is no cure. Only mitigating the outbreaks with new acquisitions. wink.png

OMG We all need help !!! We really need to plan for a CA meeting at the bash. A huge intervention for sure !!! hide.gif If we added up all the money we've spent it would be about as much as the big lottery tonight. Reminds me. Should go buy a ticket or two.

Looking at Jungs website. Might go down to Point this week with neighbor.  Any suggestions for those cukes, potatoes and corn would be appreciated. Oh and Pumpkins. I want LOTS of pumpkins. Any suggestions? Remember I live up Nort !!!

It was easy to drain the water tank. just start a syphon with the garden hose. To clean while using, just overflow for a few hours. It is 300 gallons. Those kiddy pools don't last very long. You pay at least $10 for a small one and get maybe one summer out of them and certainly not big enough for all of my gang. I would need tons of them. The ducks can actually swim in this tank.

I'll need a pool for the pigs to cool down in too !!!

Sh!t. I don't even have a pool !!!! I want one so bad. Maybe get the kiddy pool for me !!! LOL

Anybody going to the Stratford auction?

I'm tempted. But don't need anything !! Want is a different story !!

Ok, gonna go get hay with hubby I think. Maybe stop for FFF fl.gif

Jim, I have heard you speak of stacking eggs in your bators. Do you have auto turners? How do you make that work, don't the eggs spill all over the place? I am getting too many Jaer eggs that are pullet-sized, but every other day I get a nice big egg from the older girl; 3 weeks is too long to hold those eggs before the bator has some space. Listen to me, spoken like a true addict.

Amyable,

I can get YOU some Jaerhons now or hatching eggs in a few weeks if you need any!!. Just thought I would offer.

I will have to try & remember that.  old.gif  ya know. I have 2 trees, which the deer devastated the last 2 years in a row,  somad.gif  and DH planted 9 bushes last year. I've never tried any of them yet, so hopefully this season we will see if they are any good.

And congrats Terri on the post 3000! Man, you talk a lot!  lau.gif

My friend Stan has a tree expert next door, and they used soap tied to the trees, and it has kept the deer away from their trees, Stan tried it this last winter and it seems to have worked great.
