RAIQ.... Beautiful place! I pray that you sell your place fast! I can't imagine 4 bathrooms... Heaven!

FT... You have been slacking on posts. Are you boycotting us? If not... Then type up a nice long post WITH paint pictures too. (Some old people really need a nudge...big_smile.png )

Jim... What in the world do you do with all these chicks you hatch out? AND how's the momma-to-be Nora? I'm on pins and needles!

I'm making a trip to Cashton today... Got something cute and cuddly to pick up...big_smile.png:D:D

Hey Big Fam didn't your parents to teach you how to repect your elders ??? idunno.gif This is how you do it !!! bow.gif hugs.gif

I've been so busy reading and trying to catch up. I didn't get home until 1am Friday Morning from Racine. Got to bed by 3:30am and was up at 7am yesterday. Needless to say I was a walking talking zombie !!! Then I went to get hay with DH. Talked his ear off, I get that way when I"m really tired.

Then to top it off I was up til 5:30am reading and catching up again. Just got up now at 9:00am and feel like I've been run over by a Mack Truck !!

So excited about your new baby goats !!! Can't wait to see pictures. Hey, now wait didn't we have to wait decades to see pictures of your lavender Orps?

I candled eggs last night. My runner ducks are doing great. So are my geese eggs.

And I'm afraid to say I don't see much happening in the lavender silkie eggs. They mystery egg was clear for sure. The egg marked PA, I'm assuming is paint looks like it is cooking and there are maybe only two more that are developing. Not a good percentage I'm afraid hit.gif They all had ruptured air cells. The shipped eggs that I just hatched did to and they hatched. I'd be happy if one or two lavenders and that paint one hatch.

Ok, I'm fading fast. Time for a potty break then I'm going to try to get more sleep. I have tons to do today. Plus I have to file taxes. We have until Tuesday right?

Nice to see you on here Gina !! Yep TO has muscovies, that's why I asked her if she had any she wanted to rehome but she never answered. Between the two of us we should be able to hook you up with some. I was in their coop last night and looks like they are off the nest.th.gif

Say, has anyone prepared their soil for planting blueberries? I bought some aluminum sulfate and some plain sulfer. Which one should I use?

Ok, I feel like my plug has been pulled.

Have a good weekend everyone !

Later

good morning all,  rained a little last night..the lid blew off one of the feed bins, so it HAD to rain..

this morning I am going to transfer the hatched portion of the chicks out to the brooder..  I had an ice cream bucket ready, but now it is not big enough..  a larger box is ready..

I was going to make flocks of chickens complete with a rooster for sale,,  but these barrocks look like mutts.. I suppose I will just butcher the ones I can't sell..  I will just try selling them as pullets, I guess..    after I find a decent rooster, I will give it another shot..

however, the Asians like the black legged chickens, so maybe I have an outlet there.. so maybe this rooster will get a reprieve ..

Otherwise, I think I will turn the barrocks loose and just sell eggs for awhile..

Nora is getting bigger each day..  she looks like a polar bear..  along about next Tuesday, or so she is due..  we can feel puppies moving inside of her..  or maybe it is just a gas bubble ?

this afternoon should be a good time to drag out some of those pine boards and get them rough cut and planed..

and very soon I have to make at least one raised table for planting carrots and beets.. I have some nice 2x10 cedar for that..  again, more planing,,    I can defineatly  see a small greenhouse in my future.  my biggest problem is where to build it..

FT, Dan can best answer your a blueberry question..  although there are others on here that know also..  I always tried to find pine needles to spread around the plants once they were established..

I never used sulphur, but IDK..

I just want to make one comment about chickens, ducks , geese etc..   Why do so many people get panicky when the bird is not on the nest ?  FYI..  the birds do not sit tight until the last days of incubation..  they have been doing their thing for longer than we have been interfering...  so just let them do it their way..  especially muscovys..  there are enough other things to worry about,, go concentrate on them..

Morning everyone.  I spend a lot of time lurking around here but don't post very often.  I'm just wondering if anyone has Sebastopol geese and if you sell (and ship) eggs?  I'm trying to replace all the geese we lost to the bobcats last year.  Last year was a very bad year for us-good year for predators.  If you would like to trade-I raise peafowl and ornamental pheasants.  I have assorted colors of peafowl.  They have not started to lay yet, but I think they will probably start within the next couple of weeks.  My Reeves and Red Golden pheasants have started to lay.

If you have any you would like to sell or trade, please let me know.  Thanks  smile.png

DAS, I have 2 pairs of Seb geese..  White..    I am having a terrible time segregating them from my Chinese..  they are laying right now, but there is so much cross breeding going on,IDK what the results are going to be..

I also have two India Blue peacocks, and 3 hens..  they are not laying yet, either..  but it is still early ..

how far to the NW are you?   I am near Wausau..

Good morning to all!  I have decided that I need to move the chicks outside from the chick TV...they are just getting TOO big...well, and I have another batch due to hatch in two weeks....hide.gif Just told DH we need to candle eggs tonight after the banquet.  DD20s riding team has their banquet tonite...DH did the ordering so I sure hope my meal comes GF!  I dont even know where we are going yet. (I am nervous...maybe I will eat first!) LOL--

So the chicks are doing the posturing thing and bumping chests...looks like I have a whole brooder of roos! Another reason I need to get them out....the cats like to sleep on top and they caved in the screen top yesterday!  Thank God I was home!  There were chicks trapped under the light hood and the water was dumped...a fire just waiting to happen!

RAIQ--the house looks cool!  WHat town and road?  I am hoping that the road isnt a busy one...you've been to my place...this county road gave me fits when my kids were little like yours!  It looked like it might be to the side though...and a big driveway is a plus!  So are you planning on making the house into a single family or will you be renting out the apartment?   I always thought it would be cool to have somebody else living on the property....just so someone would be here.  Like maybe an older couple?  Would have to do much screening for that though...Good luck to you!

Man, it's 10:30 already...I need to get dressed and get outside!  It is 60*!  Going to be a beautiful day!  I thought we were supposed to have storms?

Have a good one!  Terri O
