good morning.. the hatch is about over..45out of 58 hatched so far.. a few stragglers yet.. turkeys went 5 out of 6.
FYI> the higher the humidity,,, the harder your incubator has to work to keep the temperature up..
why do you want it so high in the first place ? Mine are all at +- 50%.. I have not had a sticky out of over 90 hatched.. (chickens and turkeys)
I have to add heat shield to the brooder pens.. this cold weather makes it just a bit cool in the coop. It would help if the chicks didn't scrape away their hay bedding from the wire floor..
Had a pin-hole in the top of one of the gallon waterers. I patched it with Gorilla Glue.. Gorilla Glue, WD40, Duct tape , J B Weld and electrician's tape.. the five greatest tools ever invented..
Annie had to help one chick out of the shell .. it was comical as heII.. I should have taken a picture.
It pipped OK and all, but it stuck it's whole leg straight out of the zip. it was in a real dilemma.
I didn't try to see if it could hop around like that..

. One had gleet I didn't catch right away when I brought them home on Monday (all the hens had red butts~aka featherless as well as other loss)from the whole over-crowding nightmare in the barn thing and were so dirty I missed it. Now, probably thanks to the Mister (men!) it's spreading, sigh. Have Oxine on order (live in logging and potato country so No one around here even knew what I was talking about) but had plans on at least doing the Epsom salts butt bath and dosing this morning,
