Thanks CC.  Unfortunately neither of the links will bring up their website to order from.  Was hoping someone would know if they were still around.

Angiebubs - I just realized that white hamburg mix was out with the lavenders yesterday! I hope I didn't give you one of her eggs. I'll set some today so we can swap them out if we need to.

Good Morning Everyone! Finally got some sleep last night think I need one more good night. Congrats on all the hatches!!!!!! After I saw TO with the duckies being squished together I thought Pressed ducky. Yup TO that tiny egg was from your chicks. They were born on the 15th of Jan. Think it's a good sign. Dang it Cind I was reading and thought HA I'm beating you with the number of chicks hatched. Then you passed me with your last post. Have 5 in the brooder went to bed with 2 drying in the bator got up to 9 drying. jumpy.gif ya.gif So 14 total are out but I did see that there's at least one more pipped. Will take 3 down to L's work this morning and then take the dry ones to Donny's and put the others in the brooder. Then I can check for more pips. Saw the first born eating food this morning too! 14 out of 26 possibles have hatched might candle the remaining ones to look for life. Mazo sure looks like he was scrapper! Good job! DD looks very proud think another year or 2 she will be joining dad in the woods. Cind when you come for the stove next Sat bring a cage for some of your new roo's er hens. hide.gif They move too fast for my old eyes to get a count but think there's around half a doz roo's. Goin crappie fishin Wed. and or Thurs. with the BFF He went out yesterday and got a doz. said they were between 9 and 13" which translates into 7 to 10". roll.png Have a lot to do before goin downtown.

Good Morning.

Not to much new is going on. The eggs in lockdown are shaking now and again except 1 of the Guinea eggs seems to be shaking constantly. I decided to dig a pond for the duck yestarday, it's only about 7x7 and about 2 feet deep but it so much better than their kiddie pool. Once I was done they all jumped in and was diving around. The chicks are 8 weeks old today,I'm assuming I'll start hearing some crowing soon. Not a whole lot going on today, DD and I finally have an eye doctor apt for new glasses. It took almost a 6 month wait for this apt, its crazy how long a wait everything is to get apts.  Thats about it, hope everyone has a nice day.

Got up this morning to check on the chicks-two of them were out of the nestbox (out from under the broody). One didnt make it, the other is back under mom. The two remaining chicks appear to be fine. :-(  It didnt look like she had pecked at them and she seems fine with them under her-why would they have gone out from under mom? I called in sick (daughters home-think she ate somethng with gluten).). Now I can monitor the chicks throughout the day.I am thinking if I have another escape-I will set the heatlamp up-as long as moms not kicking them out.

I suppose I should motivate..... I have flowerbeds to weed. Difficult to get motivated with the furry purring beasts surrounding me.

Hoping it warms up today, I need to run again....

Enjoy the sunshine everyone!

Good morning all!  Sunny and breezy here.  I thought it was supposed to warm up towards the end of the week but now that's been changed.  My tortoises are getting tired of this cool weather for sure!  I know what you mean about getting motivated BL4!  I am sitting with a terrier on each side of my legs which are propped up on the recliner and a cat on my knees!  Definitely difficult to even move!  (but I still have coffee so I dont have to--Yet!

The ducklings and goslings I have brought in are now calm.  IT takes them a day to settle down when they are hatched outside.  They peep and peep looking for Mama I guess.  Now they are all sleeping in a contented pile.  I took the while chick out of there because the bigger gosling kept picking at it's rear end feathers...now I see it is doing that to the other goose and the guinea--might have to put it downstairs with the bigger chicks!  One day in the chick tv and these waterfowl have it messier than the whole time the chicks were in there!  Yes, I hate them in the house!!!

Well, lots to do and nothing to report yet...may the hatching continue for you all!  Have a fantastic day!  Terri O

I was so tired last night I went to sleep with the baby!  Hubby finished painting the new coop this weekend and we finally moved the 'babies' into it yesterday.  How long do they need to stay in it before I let them out to free range?  Is it like when you get new chickens and they need to learn it's their new home?  Or will they just go back since it's the same yard, just a different location and an different building?
