The 3 Americauna's we just got from Carol make the prettiest sounds. They sound more like birds than chickens. Just beautiful!

These are my first chickens, gifts from a daughter for Christmas. Once they started laying, it's rare to have a day without one egg from each hen. They come when I call them, stay close to the...

I have six Japanese Bantams. Five hens and one rooster. Grace, Zoey, Lemon, DeLacey, and DeLaney are the hens, and George Tucker is my rooster. They make up about 1/5 of my chickens. I have all...

I just LOVE my sicilian buttercup, Poppy. Anytime I go outside she loves to hop up onto my back or my arm. She's very curious and loves to he held or played with. I've also noticed that she loves...

My Brown Leghorns are very good natured, and easy to care for. they lay well and lay large eggs. You can count on a dozen plus out of this coop every 4 days with only three hens laying. I get a...

Hmmmm, I'm suprised this one didn't get a response out of TO. ![]()
Bigz, so glad you & Suzie saved the pipper.
And you are anything BUT stupid!

Cind, so relieved you found Jasmine safe & well.
Bf4, thank you for your well wishes for Ramses. He is the best behaved cat we've ever had, so friendly & loving too.
Those are some seriously cute blue-eared critters you've got there. And congrats on the orps so far.
Eggs. We sell ours for $2/doz. also, although a few days ago we passed a sign for $3.50/doz., and yesterday we saw a sign for $3.75 a dozen!
Dyno! I love your coop too. I agree with Cind's recommendation. As far as good layers go, my black australorps lay an egg almost every single day and are so docile & friendly. Just my 2 cents.
But I say hold out for what you really have your heart set on. We should be able to find someone here with some for you.
Didn't someone say not long ago that they were working on some barred rock roos for Jim?
Well, gotta go do more stuff & get to bed. Sweet dreams, all!
A wonderful DH who spoils me rotten, 4 cats, 2 doves, 1 rabbit, an old partridge cochin banty roo, a golden Seabright roo, Dominiques, buff, lavender, black, gold-laced & chocolate orps, and some barnyard mixes.

I was working on a BR roo for Jim but I'm having trouble getting hold of her.
Thanks CC Jasmine is one of the "special" ones.
My Australorps give me all the hen gossip when I see them. They seem to like attention too.

I raise Barred Plymouth Rocks and White Chanteclers - both large fowl. Both of these breeds are excellent layers, each hen producing between 5 - 6 eggs per week throughout the entire year. They are calm breeds, big birds, and excellent dual purpose. Feel free to pm me (or you can email me directly to my home email at gneta831@me.com) if anyone is interested in these as I do have chicks available that are 9 weeks old. As an aside, I just last week hatched out 13 Barred Rock chicks and I swear they are the easiest, quietest, fatest, strongest chicks I have hatched to date! I couldn't be more pleased and am exercising incredible self-restraint in not setting MORE. :)

Good Windy Morning People! WELCOME dynodan22! Think dd22 works for me. If you listen to all these people on here you'll be movin to the country just to sate your new obsession. CC glad Ramses is gettin better! And Cind glad you found Jasmine! Again so many cute babies hatchin! There was something for Jim but now all I can think of is the tutu, socks, and sandals.
Thanks a lot CC! Hope this wind dies down supposed to go fishin this aft. I sure like my mutts from TO! Very pretty and mixed crew! Blackie and Freckles have become my favorites. Figured out last night that if I put Peatwo in the run the rest go right in. He wants to mount everything that moves [I remember those years] and it scares the HE** out the young ones. Cind not sure about the first weekend it'll depend on the weather. If it's crappy we'll be here if it's nice we're heading to the camper for the opener. Too bad L's car won't haul it she's heading to Delavan tomorrow. We would be home Sunday afternoon if we go if that would work?
See, I saw a sign a couple of weeks ago way out in the country selling eggs for 55 cents! Granted, there are a lot of Amish out there, but still! I couldn't believe it! 55 cents!
