I'm in southcentral, in the middle of nowhere by madison xD. Sorry it took so long to reply, I didn't have internet access for a little while. Oh, and an update, went from 11 ducklings to 7 in the past couple days :/ not sure what's going on, but the others all seem healthy.

Edit: Would you say this chick looks old enough to go outside with my pullets? I'm running out of room in the house after we invested in the ducklings :/ They get along just fine, and if it's supposed to frost or storm I can take them in

Hmmm.  that's a tough one.  I guess it depends on the weather.  I think it looks to young to be out, but if it was a warm day, then it might be ok.  Probably still too cold at night though.

Welcome!  How old are the pullets?  It might get picked on as it is probably smaller/younger and the only one.  Not sure what size coop you have- would you be able to make the chick its own protected space where the others could see but not touch.  The chick would probably need some heat yet as it doesn't look to be completely feathered out- even a red light bulb-25 watts(called a party bulb).  Good Luck!

Good evening folks,

busy time here, esp on a great day with storms moving in,,,,,,50 tomatoes in the gh, almost done with those inside,,,

planted first 4 rows of potatoes, different technique this year, used a bulb auger on my cordless drill, bore the hole 8-10" deep, sprinkle in some magic dust add the seed then leave the hole,,,,the rain will gradually fill it, as the plant grows to daylight then you already have the initial hilling done. I will mulch half of these with straw when the green starts to show. I have used straw in the past with great results, but the last couple of years the voles have ruined a lot of the e crop,,,,we'll see how this goes

re potted 200 mater plants for resale at the end of the month,,,,planted 250 pepper starts,,,,later than I wanted but,,,

started 100 basil plants,,,these will be under the maters in the gh

all soil amendments for spring are added and worked in,,,,a few beds are tilled and finished waiting for plants/seeds,,,this week it will be wet,,,but warm,,,perfect for the soil

on the chicken front,,,,chicks are growing, hens are laying, all is well,,,,,,,meat birds on order need to recheck the ship date,,lol

bbl,,,,,time to close things up

Dan,,,,brooder height,,,my 4 wk old can jump/fly 4',,,,I would say at least 2' and a wire top should work,,,,and,,,,make it bigger than you think ,,,,,just in case you add something or,,,,
