Early Evening Everyone....what a nice day outside here today. Hope we have weather this nice for the Bash. Was able to get a few chores outside done today.

Congrats on your Turkey  Doc...way to go...tasty turkey in the future for you and L.

I still need to spread manure on the gardens and have them tilled. I have the seeds bought and just need to get the plants from the amish greenhouse yet...plenty of time yet to get things done. If everything is planted by june first, it will be just right.

Thinking I am going to try and re home my last Roo Donny Boy :-(  Really hate to as he is such a sweetheart when I hold him, he loves to be petted etc....but he still has a thing about feet and I dont feel comfortable with him around my daughter. Sad, as he is just doing his job and protecting his girls....hes at his worst if you get between him and the girls....Mostly just head down and neck feathers up-but hate having to worry about IF he decides to attack the scary boots/feet. So I emailed a lady that was interested in my boys this winter and explained the situation-see what happens ( I feel like such a traitor) Unless I find him a good home where he wont ever become someones dinner though-hes staying!

Bigzio Bash questions: Are most people staying over night? When people discuss what they are bringing-is there a specific time for a potluck and the rest of the time everyone is doing there own thing....?

BBP: Are you thinking of going to the bash in Clintonville? It would e fun to go for the day but it looks like it would be almost 4 hrs each way ......

Hi guys!

Aw how are the muscles today Terri?  My neighbor Linda has pulled two ticks out of me in the short time we've been here! sickbyc.gif Ben wasn't home both times and I could NOT wait.  We've talked about how she should really hang a sign out about her little known Tick Removal Service.  Got to love those helpful neighbors!

My cat is bored.  And smart.  A lethal combination.  It's not enough that he's able to have endless mouse fun in our stone wall sieve of a  basement.  Anyone have any ideas for a bored smarty pants cat?  Maybe teach him tricks...

Goo Night all!

The Cat?  ... in example of his boredom:  right now in my peripheral vision I periodically see his blurry fuzzyness launching himself at the window clings five feet up our all-glass deck doors.   He averages one cling piece per attempt...  many an incomplete butterfly on the deck doors now.  goofball.

Trying to work out a menu for a week people!  I've never done this before!  Anyone else do this?  Wish me luck!

I think he's a paint? I dont know but I had the boarder/trainer go look at him today and she gave the thumbs up. Said he looks healthy and is a "good boy." So, for $150 I'll take him. She's going to board him for a month and give him a refresher. He hasn't been ridden in over a year, maybe 2.
About the bash: I have a wedding on Friday, but I could go Saturday and sleep over.

I kicked the Wheatens out of the brooder. I'm hoping since there's so many of them compared to only 3 bigger ones, they'll be ok. Hopefully no one gets pecked too badly...

Crap! I just remembered I front to close the window in the coop. I better go take care of that since its suppose to storm.
Later taters!

Alright, we are coming into swap time for the chickens.

I have a few barnyard mixes about 6 weeks old to move on, what should I ask for them?

Also what should I ask for that French Blue Copper Maran Roo?

So much to do, I may try and sell one of the older mix pullets too, I will ask 15 for her.

Thoughts?

Here come the storms!

Nice Turkey DrH, way to go!

I can answer some of the Bash questions (correct me if I make an error), but I believe the main day is Saturday (big pot-luck, white elephant gift etc...) but the camp is available the whole weekend for those who cannot just drive there and back in one day and for those of us who enjoy socializing for three days....  We had the pot-luck around lunch time last year so we will probably follow that format this year.

Feel better Terri! Take some extra Calcium/Magnesium if you have it along with some extra Vit.C....

BBP.... SO jealous here...... I miss riding so much....

Gotta watch Castle before I go to bed so I better get to it.

Night all!

TerriO  & BL... In my menu making studies tonight I came across a gluten free recipe for pancakes that looks stupid amazing:  http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/01/cream-cheese-pancakes.html

good evening..  I tried to upload, download that GF pancake recipe.. too slow.

I should just go to U-Bake and get some GF flour and make my own recipe..

I am itching all over.. I found a deer tick on my hand tonight.. I was poking around in the pine tree this afternoon..  a long shower is in my near future..

I fixed up a kennel outside for Nora and her pups..  she can hop in and out, but the barrier is too high for the pups to get out. (yet)   I put a thick layer of hay, and then a thick layer of wood chips and tossed a thick old quilt on top of all of that..  at 9 PM all the pups were spread all over the floor, so I guess they are qarm enough..

Ken was all upset because we kicked the dogs out.. He refused to eat breakfast or lunch,, or talk to us all day..  Oh yes, he did say something to Annie about me,,  He said that I must be a newspaper editor, because I know everything.. In reference to what I was doing "to" the dogs, I guess..

I sold two Thai roosters today.. $20.oo each..

Marlene the guinea lady called me this afternoon..   85 minutes on the phone.. we had a good chat..

Annie went to work, Mom is in bed, so I had a banana split for supper..

that is a nice BR roo.. I would not eat it.. but he sure would have a great time with my 6 BR hens..  where is Amery in the state ?

I put a screen door on the garage to keep the chickens out and let air in..

I did a bad thing.. today I tossed all the duck eggs , (from the neighbor)..  then later on, Brian came over and said that maybe they were Muscovy eggs..  and that maybe I didn't give them enough time.. After he left, I dug them out of the dumpster and opened up a couple of them.. Yup, fully developed ducks in them, only they were dead.. I guess they got too cold in the dumpster..  they were close to hatching, too.. the yolks were all used up and there was no blood when I peeled them..  whoops !!  I floated all of them before I tossed them and not a one of them wiggled..  OH well,,   sh!t happens..

I wish I would have known today was going to be so nice.. I would have planted some more potatoes.

I have to make some hanging strawberry planters for DD#1  she has them put together, I just have the pleasure of making holes for the plants..   I have a dozen dresser drawers to re-inforce for her too.. she is going to use them for planters in the back yard.. Her BF won't let her till up the useless piece of "lawn" for a garden..  Or should that be her "useless BF" ?
