good evening..  Ken, what kind of bator do you have ?  I would try to level out the temp to 99F.

If you have a LG or a Hova, try taping the seam with duck tape..

TerriO, my mulberry did not grow..  I just remembered you asked a bit ago..

Amy, You're right ,, it WAS Paula,,  I wonder what she is up to ?

So many people that do not check in here anymore..

I do crepes once in awhile..  I like to smear them with cream cheese and then put some kind of fruit in them, fold them up and chow down..  My favorite is cherry..  I used canned fruit with the sort of jelly in with the fruit..  I guess it is really pie filling..

once at the pancake house in wausau, they discontinued the cherry filled ones.. So I brought my own can of cherries and they made me cherry ones..

Now I am hungry for blintzes.. thanks for bringing it up..

good buy on the guineas..  I hope they stay home for you..

who did you find to do your chicken butchering?  what do they charge ?

OMG CC that is terrible news ! I am so sorry !!! hugs.gif Those babies are special to you but even more so now. hugs.gif I've had that happen as well. Seemed perfectly happy and healthy then gone. How sad. How is Moose doing? Were they very close?

Well we took the big leap and bought a tent last night. A Coleman Elite Weathermaster with a small screen porch. I was getting all excited. Finally made a batch of the Apple Pie Shots for the bash. Then went down to visit the neighbor and asked him if he was still able to feed my critters while we were at the bash. Bad News, he works out of town and will be in Idaho for that whole weekend. SH!T !!  He is the only one I'd really trust. So now I don't know what we are going to do.

So my tent might be going back to de store !!! th.gifIt even has a built in lighting system with a wall switch !! Got a good deal on it but don't know if we will ever be using it.

Sun was out, I went to Vote and on my way home is started to rain. Then while I was visiting with the neighbor it started to hail out !!!

Oh, remember the raffle that I posted on here a few months ago? It was for a Chicken Stock 4H I believe in Idaho? Well they had 71 prizes. Guess who won the 71st prize !! Yes wee.gifYou'res Truely !!! wee.gif Guess what I won ????? ........................  1 dozen Heritage Turkey Eggs th.gif I don't do turkeys and I don't want to start. I'm looking to trade them with some of the other winners since some of them aren't into some of what they won either.

Might get some dom's instead. Sure wish I could have won some more duck eggs. I'm getting into ducks......... Thanks Bl4 !!!! hugs.gif

BBP Congrats on the call duckies !!! Pictures, we need pictures !!! You too Jim. We want to see your pups and that lonely little call duck!!!

Amyable, Welcome to Guinea ownership. I just love my guineas. They have a face only a mother could love. They look like they are wearing clown makeup don't they? lol

What colors did you get, don't remember if you said or not. That is a shame that the Amish have to move, I hope they didn't lose their farm ? Good neighbors are hard to come by.

Making more apple pie shots tomorrow since I bought 2 gallons of cider which you can't find this time of year. I bought it at a very nice little apple orchard outside of Antigo. They sell all types of trees, berry bushes etc. Very nice apple orchard. I asked if she grew the trees and she said no but she sells trees from the place where she gets the trees for her orchard. Priced very reasonable too. She had 2 gallons of cider left int he freezer. Sold !!!

Oh CC... so sad about Alice!!! hit.gifIt really really stinks! Im so glad she was a broody momma for you and you still have moose babies! You said she laid an egg today? Any way it could be fertilized and you could try to hatch it? One more little remembrance of Alice?

Shoot I am boring and lazy today. Im not going to do the whole double window thing...

MXM... cute coop. Your chickies look perfect in there. It looks sturdy and very safe!

Amyable.... I already said I was taking Cartman, did you forget?!

Cind... sounds like you son is making himself right at home... for a looooong time I bet.wink.png

Frenchie... I think others on here would like to see your lav silkies.... just saying they are very cute!!!

Jim... I want rhubarb pie (yeah , it was yesterday... I'm slow)

I'm thinking about making jam and was wondering if anyone would be interested for the bash? One recipe is rhubarb jam which doesnt use pectin, just 2 whole oranges and the pectic in the peel makes it set. Another was a blueberry rhubarb jam. I have rhubarb, so should do something with it right?!

OOOHHH and I have a duck PIPPED! They arent due until Friday, thursday at earliest! I dont know what to expect from a duck. In fact the bator wasnt even in lock down, and had to remove the turner yet! I hope it hatches! While candling I did see what looked like another egg with an internal pip. I hope they do ok...

Night all... its late...

AND one more thing... You all nighters better set up camp far away from the main action area. My kids get up stupid early and cannot-willnot be quiet. They will be loud and probably annoying, just so you know! ep.gif

Now Im off to catch up on my reading...

Did you post this on the emergency thread? I would say put her on an oral medication but not sure what to recommend. Tylan 50 is an injectable but people do give it orally which I think I would do. Not in the water but with a syringe.

I can't think of any of the other antibiotics that go in the water off hand. If it comes to me I will  post them. I'll see if I can find my notebook with dosages for the tylan 50.

Ok, found my notes about Tylan 50 Liquid Injectable

For injections:1/2 cc for 6-7lb bird

.25cc per lb of chicks weight (bantams)

Orally: 1/2cc down the throat for adult birds

1/4 cc for half grown chicks

1/10 cc for chicks (my notes didn't say chicks, but I think this would be the dosage, sorry not sure why I didn't write it down)

As an Eye wash :

1 part tylan to 4 parts sterile saline wash. Put in eash eye and use as nasal flush

TYLAN Powder (More expensive then liquid)

1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water for 3 days or 1-5 days (again my notes are vague here, I copied them down from a post I'm sure here on BYC)

I've never done the eye flush. I'm not sure your hen's problems is actually her eye or ????

Let us know what you find out. I'll post more if I find anything as well. Good Luck.

Well, I was going to respond to a bunch of stuff but it's getting too late. Just taking a break, still have too much to do! so....

BABY PICTURES!!                    Jasmine is so puffed up she looks like she's going to POP!

IMG_0828.JPG

Keep in mind Jasmine is slightly smaller than a PR

Looks like some of the girls I got from Jim squeezed under the table.

IMG_0826.JPG

Chick jail! I am concerned about the size of the chicken wire... I think I should have gotten some smaller mesh. Most can squeeze through!

IMG_0825.JPG

Quite a mix! Only 2 daddys. Not sure if I got all 14 in... probably not.
