I got flask and cherriesclap.gif.... where was the almond vodka?hu.gif

CC... you went to bed too early!

Jasmine took the kids on a field trip today. Under the door of her brood area (guess she knocked out the board), and through the fence (she's small enough to  squeeze through 1 area) and over to the tall grass and pines next door. I'll have to take a beak count when she gets them to bed! I put out the new waterier too! can't carry it full but I'll work something out. The white EE pullet I got to mix! up the gene pool was trying to crow this morning...d@mn it!

CU later!

I am so torn over what kind of chickens I want. I want to invest in a 'project' flock, but I don't know what I want them to be! I almost want to buy some more EE's, but at the same time I think those "calico" looking chickens would look wonderful in my flock. Ah the decisions!

Evening All.... I can't believe you missed the flask at the campfire CC! Maybe next year if you think you want a nip at the time. Yep, the almond vodka was from the cherries and used to refill the flask for a few more passes around the fire.

The camera is on the top of the list for next year. I could of taken some worthy pics.

Sure hope we get some rain soon. Nothing is going to germinate in these dry conditions. The seeds are laying in dry dirt. The grass i cut last week looks like I just cut it. It's still may and should be growing like may, not july.

Moved momma and her one chick to my trailer in the garage....momma couldn't keep the baby safe in the coop. It was pecked in the beak and had a bloody nose. She quit sitting, so we candled the rest and turned the bator on. I don't have high hopes but I have nothing to lose.

Good evening....I now know how my DH got so blastedly blotto....it was that cherry juice!  I didnt know you guys drank it in the flask! LOL!  My son is home and just messaged me and said "what was that word you used for really drunk again?"  I hope he stays in Whitewater tonight....

Farrier came today...and a load of hay.  paid for the hooves but not the hay.  Still have to unload it but at least it is in the driveway...my knee and opposite foot are really paining me...Doc had nothing to say of course!

More ducklings are hatching...and the broodies in the coop are hatching their nests too...nothing from the guineas yet...I think they arent fertile.

Just popped in to put dinner in the oven...I have to go back out to planting--I think I overdid it on the tomato plants again!

Later!  Terri O

Evening all!

I see I must go back to editing my posts before I hit submit!  LOL!! I don't even have a good excuse like the letters on the key board are to close!! "t" and "x" are not even in the same zip code!!  Ah well....

Got some more plants for the flower bed and tomorrow is planting day. Period.  I told DH that if he could till one more time I'd be very happy and if not, then I'll plant anyway.

I stopped in at the local nursery here and talked to the plant guru about my plans for the bed and showed him my diagram.  We talked about the sun where it hits and for how long We also talked about what I could plant and what I wanted.  I got a neat little shrub/tree called the Amur Maple Compactium.  We talked about where it will go in the flower bed and the fact the I can prune it to stay small since it can either be a shrub or tree.  This will go on the side of the bed that gets almost full sun.  I originally was only going to to one part of the place where the bed is but with CC's help when I had a question, I decided to make the whole area into a flower bed.  One side is more shade them the other side.  Then I went to F&F and they had some very cool plants at very good prices.  I did get some Butterfly Bushes for my next project/area the I want to change from weed city to flower metropolis.  The bushes were on sale for $5.99 for 1 gallon (I think!) containers. I though that was a good price since the same size containers were $15.99 at K&W Greenery.

So anyway, I'll post before and after pictures!

Other then that, everyone is great! Rabbits, Chickens, Dogs, Cats, DH....

Well the laundry buzzer just went off.....best go hang the laundry....

I just got home and found a 9 week chick dead in the field by the coop with her head tore off. and gone. What could it be? In the middle of the day?  I did have a few day olds go missing a couple of weeks ago. Darn it! It had to be a splash and a girl, something I have very few of.
