Guess I'm warned to make sure the wood shed is full then. I'll have the wood you bring yourselves and a comphy chair.

Sorry bigfam, it slipped out.....while one can't control being old or getting older, i'll admit I'm not a huge fan of the process....however it beats the alternative for sure. I just had to jab a lucky youngster!

Sorry Vicki...may your friend RIP.

I guess i have to admit you are right CC....prolly the Suzie pillow if i remember right?

Hope you can figure a way to fill the 5gal waterer Cind....I take for granted being able to lug the heavy stuff yet.

going to bed early again tonight..  I can't believe how much energy I had today with all the bed time I put in last night..

I picked up my nephew and he shoveled 3 buckets of deep bedding out of the guinea pen.. then I brought a nice big scoop of fresh chips up and spread them in there..  then I dragged up the 4ft x 4 ft electric brooder and replaced the wafer in it and got it set up in the guinea pen..  tomorrow the chicks will be transferred into there..  all 110 of them..they are all feathered out and don't really need the extra heat.. but if we should get some freezing nights, I will be ready..

then nephew rode the corn planter and we planted all 2 pounds of seed.. 14 rows..  as long as it was only 1:30 by this time I had him take the tiller and plow a trench and we replanted the whole row of potatoes.

I was going to put the tomatoes in, but with storm warnings out for tomorrow, why take a chance ? we'll prolly get hail..

Tiki,  watch the sky for your chicken killer..

I had 3 more turkeys hatch today..  I had only 8 eggs due, so we are doing really good on this hatch..  have 8 peahen eggs due on the 27th..

He's keeping it at the farm where you're boarding your new horse. wink.png

Dont you find it odd that people will put more work into choosing their mechanic or house contractor than they will into choosing the person who grows their food?

HA! one of the family farms is in Cassville.....  my FIL's parents used to own a little country store/gas station at the corner of HWY 130 and JJ (that little triangle of land) in Lone Rock.

BigFam, I have always loved the countryside in that area of the state. The only problem for me would be finding a job.

It sucks being farmer-wanna-be's......

BL4  You can keep your tractor and horse here,,  I will see to it that both get used..  and you can visit them any time you want to..

Today, Annie told me that I should look into getting the tractor motor rebuild kit for the Oliver 55. I have been wanting to do that for a couple of years, but was afraid to bring up the subject.. I guess talking with the neighbor about him doing his, made her think of it..  I think the kit is about $750.oo

Then I would need help doing it..  I can see $2500.oo before it is all done..  but then I would have a very nice tractor when it is finished..

Obviously, if he's anything like my DH, the tractor goes in the garage  lau.gif  We built our house 12 years ago.  I have a 3 stall garage, a single stall garage, and a large hoop style building (can't think of what it's called at the moment).  My vehicle has never seen the inside of one of these buildings.  One of these days I'm going to have a very large garage saletongue.png

CC, I would have totally helped you with that box of Sangria!!!!  lol.png  I would have TRIED anyway!  Truth is I'm such a lightweight it isn't even funny.  And at events like this one I poop out early!  Is this why everyone else takes the party so late?  Y'all are too sloshed to stand up and get to yr sleeping bags? So you start singing.... lau.gif  Really, though, if the serenading isn't already a tradition it should become one.

RIGHT, BL?  >snort<  yeah... try to make 50 Shades into a movie...  so who's your Christian?  Mine is Cillian Murphy, but he's 35!  Too many years on him!  lol  Isn't some of the writing terrible?!?!?!  lol.png

Tiki, sorry to hear about your chicken... hope you find out who the culprit is  hugs.gif

Hugs to you too Vicki.
